  1. The 25mm refers to the piston seal size. My theory is the aspect of a small compression tube would would shoot sweeter as pressure = force/area, to expert the same pressure over a small area you would require a small force. So in theory you don't need as strong a spring and so the recoil would be lower and the gun should hence shoot sweeter. When it comes to ordering a v mach kit you order the ones that are marked pre 144xxx odd. I was led to believe that the pistons were changed from 25 to 26 for the US markets.
  2. Taking a leaf from retromic's book I have a qb78 that I found in the loft when I moved house, with the tr robb tuning kit. It is in fair condition a little rust from having been stored in the loft but the stock is in great condition but you can have it if you fetch it.

    .177 fac

I don't get the whole European thing that the .22 is the way forward if you look at the antipodes where there are no power restrictions people don't both with the calibre. If they want to pack a real punch they go for a 222 or rimfire
  4. If you are left handed the tx is terrible to load.
  5. Only one to add is the hw77
  6. If you want to treat yourself Dave Hall is the man. He fettles with the trigger as well and costs around £180 but trust me it is worth it.
  7. You can pick up second hand hw77/97/80 for around the £200 mark. Some even cheaper, Hw's are like the Toyota pickup trucks they very rarely go wrong and superbly accurate. I would steer clear of the 90 with the gas ram though.http://www.gunstar.co.uk/Air-Rifles-for-sale/Gun-Search.aspx?newSearch=1
  8. The Air Arms pellets are just repackaged JSB's
  9. That is a descent haul there. I was given a couple of tins in .177 and yet to try them out.
  10. Try google intershoot and they have them on line free postage and at cheap prices and stock the who range
  11. If it is a springer you are after look no further than the hw's better buy quality as you are more likely to use it and not get discouraged.
  12. Its good to see people are changing to springers! After shooting proper guns a lifeless pcp just doesn't feel right. Last week i took possession of a hw77 bought second hand from a shop in Wales for the whopping price of £90. Obviously not in great shape but after a little tlc and reblueing it will be up to scratch.

    Tuning????

If you can find a 25mm piston and comp tube to fit and send it off to either Dave Hall or Steve Pope you will be amazed. It might also be an advantage to have the trigger done as well.
  14. the rabbits can't tell the difference between a head shot from a .22 and .177
  15. Depends how much you are looking to spend but I find my fac Airwolf to be perfect, it is couple of inches longer but the cocking won't aggravate your tennis elbow.
