  2. We put about 15-20 out of one marsh on the way to the foreshore two nights ago. The area would be about 1/4 of a football pitch. Loads of them up here in N.Ireland if ya know where to go but we don't bother much with them.
  3. She would make a good scare crow

  9. I should get my new gun tomorrow all being well (with TNT parcels). A nice shiney new Silver Pigeon 3 O/U multichoke-field gun. Thats my xmas present to myself and the (x) girlfriend said 'F you' and packed er bags Life can't get much better than that
  10. Shot them on chickweed once. We had gone to a bean field which had been ploughed in the day before but on our way home found 3 fields together with stubble/chickweed. We shot 90+ (can't remember the exact number) in about 3hrs sharing the same gun.
  11. I like a prefare a lighter gun myself with a shorter stalk, I suppose thats what im used to anyway (AYA Yeoman O/U FC). I guess (as you suggest Cranfield) is try them out. Dazza Cheers for the offer, my mate shoots a silver pigeon and I liked it for the lightweight feel and how easy it came up to my shoulder. I just got offered a more expensive gun and can't justify the expense along with the weight difference. Cheers guys.
  12. Right folks (experienced folks) help me out here, Im just about to come into some money (paid off) so im looking to invest in a new gun. I have been offered a 682 Gold E at a good price but was actually looking for a silver pigeon. Whats the diference between the guns and as I use mine for the field should I stick to the filed gun catagory. Now don't tell me about the width of the rib. I want to know about other practical issues as to why they (berreta) have different catagories. Cheers Jonny No I don't want a auto.
  13. Never in my lifetime have I seen so many pigeons around Comber (my home town), We covered 3 fields between the 6 of us and shot approx 200 pigoens today. Saw some flocks of around 2000+ pigeons abd had a great mornings shoting. I forgot to take the camera but I have them in my garage so i might take a photo tomorrow. Christ there was some birds flying around North Down today.
  14. that scarecrow needs some oats
  15. That an opportunist photograph of a road kill
  16. Coming from N.Ireland we don't have the choice to shoot at night/moonlight and our season ends in Jan. We are currently trying to get that changed as far as I am aware. From what I gather the Joint Council for Strangford Lough have raised this issue with BASC and the wetlands trust, but if what you are saying is correct then it will be in vain.
  17. Was out on Sat. on a stubble field that I had been watching on Fri. The north wind suited that field too which helped the flight line. Shot 75 and ran out of carts, nearly went home for more carts but decided that a few pints where calling me plus the horse racing was looking good. Could have got the 100+ but we had a good enough morning. Another couple of mate where out and shot 104 (you know who they are Colin). The birds are thinning out and I don't think they will be here in big numbers for much longer.
  18. You shouldn't be mounting your gun at anything over 50yards full ****** stop. End off.
  19. My girlfriend took this after I had a trip to the pub when we had finished shooting. I am human after all
