  1. Cheers guys, selling a rifle with scope And you helped me decide which scope to keep on my PCP and which to include in the sale :-)
  2. Mine has a 3-9x40 Hawke HD sport on it but thinking of taking it off and putting a 3.5-10x50 Simmons white tail classic on it
  3. Maybe the primer hole on the hull was a bit big or the primer a bit small....I assume it fired ok
  4. What's the differences and relative merits between A. Simmons whitetail classic 3.5-10 x50 B. SMK 3-9x40 C. Hawke Sport HD Mil dot 3-9x50 Please :-)
  5. Does anyone have a list of pellet brands/types with their weights? I've seen a few tables for calculating power using the weight and speed but many pellet tins don't have the weight on them
  6. By the end of this year it will be law in Scotland. The cost isn't yet known but will probably be similar to what we currently pay for FAC. The unknowns are do we still have to get one if we have a FAC or SGC Or do we just have the weapon details and serial number added to our existing tickets by the addition of an additional page? Second thoughts that'd make sense so it'll probably be a whole new licence at extra cost.....
  7. They want to be able to throw the book at someone when they do act stupidly with an air rifle, basically creating the new offence or adding to the original offence of having an unregistered firearm. Like all **** new things it gets thrust upon us up here first before the rest of the UK. There's talk of England and Wales following suit afterward however I'm hoping it's such a spectacular failure that doesn't happen
  8. Reloading supplies (not hardware) 12g sundries if no longer required. Happy to pay by paypal including delivery if it's something I can use. Cheers guys
  9. http://www.mecshootingsports.com/p-387-9000hn.aspx Any hints tips or tricks and things to avoid? I've bought the 12g version so if anyone is selling any supplies off or sees any good deals out there I wouldn't mind a heads up if that's ok :-)
  10. The damage this did won't affect the use of the gun but anyone buyer should I choose to sell it will see it as soon as the look down the chamber
  11. Maybe I'm missing something but.... Your interest is in the 12g? You can get really good fiochi virgin hulls for very little money.... Say 6p each!!! See below My advice is don't bother! I'll post a photo of the cartridge that was 'once fired' then reloaded that split in my M23 causing damage as soon as I find it. http://www.####.co.uk/page2.pdf
  12. Most shooters won't be that close. Is it worth risking cruelty/wounding/damage to the sport and ammo for the anti brigade to prove a point? If your going to kill you should always use appropriate ammo to ensure a quick humane end. God knows our sport needs no more negative publicity. A vixen ending up at the pdsa with an **** full of pigeon shot doesn't help
  13. No not at all, I prefer 3-4 for geese but you can get away with 5 but I wouldn't use 7 let alone on a fox lol
  14. Doesn't make it right The cartridges are there and available so I can't think of any good reason to hit a fox with 7s
  15. Unfortunately the boxes don't necessarily reflect the contents (especially sad about the Hardy lol) so will sort out a list. I suppose on the upside the empty boxes fetch decent money on fleabay.
  16. Hi Guys, I'm in Glasgow. I'll get a list together and post it on here. The square shot are Fn dispersante Tightchoke I've spent a lot of nights in wittering lol (RAF Wittering)
  17. Just picked up a load of old cartridges but only collect one of each! Anyone got a collection of their own to swap individual carts with or want to buy any!? If no takers then I'll fire the spare at pigeons lol almost all paper cartridges even some dispersante!!! Square shot lol
  18. Your mate is an idiot then, firing dove dust at a fox. I picked up 1000 20g in No 3 yesterday (£200) At close range 3s will do the job, better with bigger though but it's the best compromise for hare and geese with a couple of foxes
  19. The reason I have heavy load 20g is obvious if you look at my signature. We have two 20g as 12g are too heavy for my other half to use, she's a slim size 8 with as much upper body strength as a retarded squirrel lol But she wanted to start coming out on the foxes hares geese etc rather than just the pigeons. All the shops round here stock in a 20g are 6s and 5s if you are lucky. My cartridges are custom loaded by Aleck Kerr now up here in Scotland. He ships all over the world, and I pay a lot less than it costs from a gun shop.
