  1. YES! I just got banned from BAN GUNS as well! So I went to Bill Oddie's page and posted on his wall, as he is linked with the site, asking why they don't seem to like debate, and accusing them if censorship. I wonder if he'll answer me....
  2. But you don't argue against the 'lefty drivel' bit...happy with that
  3. Wow. I can't believe some of the lefty drivel I'm reading on this thread. Lets take off the yesterday goggles for a minute and think about this. Are people stupid enough to think that the copper did the wrong thing? In front of thousands of independant witnesses and televised the world over? He knows that if he unlawfully assaults someone he's out the job. Goodbye career and pension. And he thinks the same thing subconciously every single time he has to use force on some scrote. So don't kid yourselves on, he knew what he was doing and thought it was the right thing at the time. At least he had the bottle to make the decision and know he would be in full view of the world when he did it.
  4. When I'm the president I'll solve half the problem in one fell swoop- stop giving out dole money, and instead, give tokens for food and essentials. Why should tax-payers pay for someone elses' luxuries, like fags and alcohol And ultimatley that costs even more money because they clog up the NHS. I'm not saying give NO money, but definately only a small percentage of the overall benefit. And I'd make long term 'jobseekers' do voluntary jobs, even if it was just in charity shops. You don't get nothin' for nothing, I was always taught. PS, I'm not knocking family tax credits, only the true scroungers.
  5. No, they don't. They'll ask the police to attend the address with them, and the police seize any animals that appear neglected. I've done this a few times, mainly dogs, and a lizard! I even had to exhibit some of them as evidence! Not sure how that was ever going to work in court...!
  6. The mighty David Gilmour. Sings and plays better than ever. Can't stop listening to Live At Gdansk
  7. Hello mate, I'm new on here as well. Just though T'd say hello as you are named after the man himself, I presume?!
  8. Hello everyone, I have made a faux pas it would seem, and posted on the site before introducing myself. So here I am. I've never been pigeon shooting before, but I'm desperate to give it a go. I've shot on and off since I was a kid, and got into it through the old man. We'd go rough shooting mainly. In the last few years he's taken me on a few stalks in the West Highlands, and got me my first Stag. I don't think I'll ever top those days, but it's something to aim for. Shot more in the Army, but that doesn't really count. It's not got the same draw as 'sporting' shooting. At the moment I only have one permission, where I can go for rabbits. Other than that, it's the Clay club as often as possible to keep my eye in. I need to get off my backside and get knocking again! I've recently bought a Beretta A400 Light, and I'm loving it. Prefer it to my Urika 2. If I can get the land and FAC, next step will be a Ruger 10/22. Little bit at a time! You guys seem like a helpful bunch, so I'll keep reading the posts and building my knowlege. Cheers Folks! John
  9. Ooops. I owe an introductory post! I'll get that sorted. I was going off Ben's description of the land being flat, hence no backstops. No footpaths within 400 yards (meaning there ARE footpaths in the vicinity). And I did say to call his FEO to see if it the land had been cleared in my post! You've done some sneaky journo-type editing when you quoted me
  10. I can't see it mate. To me, 30 acres on open ground is just about enough for shotguns. Bearing in mind a .22 can travel a mile or so, I'd guess that it won't be cleared by the police for rimfire. Give your FEO a call and see if they can tell you if the land has been passed for the calibres you want to shoot, then you'll know for sure whether its worth applying.
