Is it not illegal to shoot at a dog or cat ? surely if the police got wind their licence would be took off them ?

Gamebore hi-bird 3" 50grm bb work pretty well. Also got some 36g bb in 70mm for the older guns

Kent velocity 29g 6s is my flavour of the month spot on but have used 7 1/2 28g loads work just fine had some fairly high birds witg 7-1/2 and 3/4 choke Using a beretta 686e with 1/2 and 1/4 and a franchi semi auto with full choke

In summer me and my mate set up with about 5 decoys and abit of camo netting put the decoys out while we was sorting the netting out one landed about 6ft away from me had no gun out so it got away but we built the pattern up and did well.

Lets not have a bust up over it. I wouldnt let anyone shoot at shotgun at me on purpose at any range just in case it does some damage ya never know

Does anyone use full choke for decoying just bought a full choke semi auto and used it for abit of roost shooting and did pretty well so goin to try it decoying but will take my beretta with 1/2 and 1/4 in just incase I really cant get on with it.

Im not a new shooter just out of practice really I was getting very good at clays then lost interest abit. But kept my gun and licence so had a couple of years break but have got some permission now so getting into decoying, roost shooting and rough shooting have been doing it about a year now so getting back into it but I was asking out of interest to help me understand things better and hopefully help me hit more. consistantly 25-35 yards but have had a fair few around 40 but have missed them at 10 yrds but Im not the most experienced shot.

What is the killing range in reality for a full choke 12 bore, I know it depends on skill, cartridge, shot size and luck but for arguements sake lets say 30g of 6s at a pigeon through full choke. Ive heard people say 60/70 yards and others saying 30 whats your thoughts or best long shots ? Ive killed a pigeon at about 70yrds but it was a fluke and not something I can do consistanly. Thanks

Noise is not too much of an issue as its not too close to houses and motorway noise helps to drown it out

Would I be breaking any laws if I was to go pigeon decoying new years day ? Or even new years eve. Might be a silly question but I want to be sure. Thanks.

The process for opening the choke looks fairly simple so hopefully wont cost alot and the guys at the gun shop always do me abit of discount

I was thinking about getting it changed to about half choke will see how much its going to cost me.

Thanks for the replys, its not in mint condtion its got a few dings and scuffs but not bad at all id say its Fair/good condition.

I have just bought this semi auto from the local gunshop if anyone could tell me more about it I would appreciate it. this is what I already know about it its a Franchi 12 bore with full choke 2-3/4 inch chamber and has 1964 date stamp on it cant seem to find a model number/name on it It works fine and cycles 28g cartridges, also what do you think its worth ? Thanks

Ive not tried it yet but will be getting some soon as im going decoying over the christmas break.

Just bought a slab of Gamebore clear pigeon 30g 6s only used a few so far but taking them decoying sunday so will know better then. But first impression is good worth a try.

So its ok to eat them pink it wont make me ill ? I always have my steak rare so think pigeon would be nice abit pink but dont want food poisoning.

Is pigeon classed as red or white meat ? Can it be eaten medium/rare or must it be cooked thorougly ? Thanks
