  1. Ideal! Means I can have a go at a restoration without the stress of messing it all up. Thanks Paul
  2. I have just aqquired a Fredrick Williams sxs of London and Birmingham. The bluing is very worn but the stock is good. I don't have any pictures as of yet but cant find any info on them anywhere. So at the moment I'm just curious as to whether it has any value. I know they stopped making them around 1927 but his shop remain open until the late 40's. Thanks for any help in advance, Paul
  3. 6 this morning over stubble 12158 6 this morning over stubble 12158
  4. If i shoot for fun i shoot a few i.e under 20 and later eat then if i shoot for control I'll shoot every one i see and either dispose via the dump after giving out as many as i can to the local restraints, pubs and butchers. There is nothing wrong in enjoying shooting. FOR FUN!
  5. I have a perm next to a reserve and only shoot them if i fancy duck for tea
  6. See reds all the time here in sunny Devon. I don't personally cull greys but a big thumbs up to those who do!
  7. She said its mainly the neighbours to worry about and to keep out of their way as they have threatened shooters on this perm before. So .22lr will be the rifle of choice eventually when my fac comes. Paul
  8. This what i was trying to find out by the post but got an air rifle now anyway, Thanks for all the help guys!
  9. I have applied for .17 and .22 already, I'm going to go down to my local rfd and get an air rifle later. Thanks for all the help. I spoke to the land owner earlier and they are happy to wait or let me go with an air rifle. Paul
  10. Its not flat horse land. They have sheep too and the shooting its self is solely 50 acres which has already been cleared. Newton abbot in Devon is where I'm located. Think i need to go down the air rifle route
  11. This happened to me when i applied for my sgc. Feo just contacted my father in law and got my new number from him as he's also a certificate holder. Felt pretty stupid when i got a call from him tho..
  12. I have just put in for my fac after finding a suitable permission. The owner wants all the bunnies under control as they are causing huge amount of damage to the land. However they wont let me use the shotgun because they have 24 horses in proximity to the area i can shoot and because of the livery yard next door. So now I'm stressed thinking that they may give permission to someone else because they want the pests under control but i cant afford to get am air rifle because then i wont be able to get my rifle once i get my fac as the local rfd doesn't do any decent trade in and moneys tight as ever. So does any body have any suggestions on how i can start working down the population without a gun so i can ensure i don't lose my only fac suitable permission as my others are only shotgun suitable. Also while I'm on the subject i was wanting a .17hmr but will it be too loud for the horses. There's approx 50acres i can shoot over. Thanks in advance for any suggestions as i really cant loose this perm to someone else. Paul
  13. Yeah next weekend will be fine as i go every sat will give you a buzz Wednesday next week to arrange it paul
  14. Cant see the number as mods must have blocked it but if you pm me it then ill be happy to give you a call. I'm out twice a week. Mainly in the morning ready for first light. Usually get anywhere from 5 to 15 for an hour and half to 2 hours but that should double with 2 of us. If your free this saterday would be ideal meeting around 6am to start shooting around 6:30 until 8:30 or a bit longer if the birds keep coming. Let me know Paul
  15. Where are you too? I'm no expert but you'd be welcome to come out with me, I have an old single barrel you could use if you wanted. Paul
  16. For the money you could get better
  17. Let me know when. I go out twice a week at moment. I cant guarentee huge bags but the potential is there, Paul
  18. This, I'm no expert when it comes to decoying and far from being one, but for me birds are only decoying to 4 fuds in a random pattern. No interest in shells, floaters, flappers or bouncers. However bags are proving small but very enjoyable. HTH Paul
  19. Not too bad. Just need to learn to shoot better lol south Devon by the way
  20. How about the green seedling canes from b&q. £1.49 for 25
