Basford is scored and graded but not cpsa reg. As is Hilton Park I believe. Doveridge does a reg shoot and I have heard Oakedge is to start a comp again but I don't think that will be cpsa.
If it is Steve Lovett restarting his competitions at Oakedge which I’m sure I read somewhere then it will be registered and testing.

As with Westley I’ve had two stocks made adjustable by Simon Wilmore at Doveridge. Reasonably priced and quick turnaround both times.

Just a heads up. It's Lakeside at Wymswold leics grand summer bash on Sunday 24th
Should be a great day out for the whole family,
Lakeside is a fishing shooting ground with some great clays.
Have a peek at their web site.
Lovely ground and fishing lakes and good hospitality and Simon Hadfield is a top chap.

Always Friday for us

We used to get a couple of police that dropped by our streets knocking on doors asking us what we were most concerned about. My concern was the drug dealers who had no worries openly selling drugs from their cars using our road as a place to,do their business. I had rung police several times in the past telling them if they came now they would catch them. Not interested. Anyhow the ones that came asking our concerns told me to next time tell the police operator I saw a gun!! That would bring them quick enough.

I used my Visa debit card to pay for a car service and Sainsbury’s today. ??

I missed the beginning as was out shooting but caught most of it. I am not overly keen usually on watching such events but I have to say I really enjoyed it, she looked so beautiful in a very understated way and the service was more interesting. The music and singing were superb and my favourite hymns to boot. I truly hope they live a very happy life together. I am glad we have had some distraction from other less pleasant events.

You bid not have the gun under your arm at the time did you?
Yes your 100% correct but SGC in a bank as ID???
Why not it’s got your photo, your signature and other details. It’s more likely they just have a list of more common ID to follow.

Ridiculous that a bank wouldn’t use it, it’s a recognised important form of ID to get a Diclosure (CRB)

What amazes me is how people get really wound up about keeping the family name. I know of one family with four daughters and you can see through that I believe. Is it a big ego thing or what?
I am firstly English but that then makes me British ...United Kingdom appears to have replaced Great Britain because the numpties instruct that nobody should be 'great' we should all be equal. Britains go back much further than English. If I remember my history Romans invaded Britain not England.
I have been known when asked where I come from when abroad to state United Kingdom of Great Britain ?? ?. I was born in Westminster within London as were my parents and grandparents but Directly after birth was taken back to Malta where my parents had been living for a few years. At 4 yrs we moved to Wales where my parents still live so in truth Wales is my home and if I had to choose, Wales would be my country and my emotional connection is there rather than England.

I consider myself British.

DanBettin how did it go?

I’m a simple person and I certainly don’t have the answers but my view is this. The second amendment was formed at the birth of a nation when guns were I believe single shot and took a time to reload. Move on in time when really a country should have matured in terms of lawlessness. So now they can have assault weapons that spew out multiple shots to “defend” themselves. Can someone please explain the need for such types of guns - are they used to shoot game or clays? NO. Balance is required, they need as a nation to realise that they can’t have everything, take out of the equation guns for which the everyday person really shouldn’t have a need for. It took him 7minutes or so to end the lives of those people - 7 minutes! It won’t solve the problem but it might mitigate it. Tighten up their licensing and checking system is a definite step in the right direction. Will it solve the problem - No - but it might mitigate it. Mental health needs to be addressed yes most definitely but that goes for a lot of countries around the world but if you have a more stringent approach to gun ownership you may actually stop a few incidents from actually occurring.
Personally I think there will be change, not now and perhaps not in my lifetime but eventually the younger generations will move for change.

I’m sorry for your loss, a good innings for a cat. I have four of my own and they bring me a lot of joy.

Mixed reactions it seems and definitely a few teething problems.

I thought there were more supermarkets offering game?
I was in Sainsbury’s shopping and noticed a pheasant which would probably have just fed the old man for £10. You aren’t going to get many people picking up a bird that wouldn’t feed a family of 4 for £10 when they can pick up a large chicken that will for £4.
Another thing I may not be understanding. The birds once shot have effectively been paid for? Is my understanding correct? If this is so surely these surplus birds could be sold off very cheaply to supermarkets who could if they were minded to sell them for a more family friendly price? If there really is a glut I don’t know why the shoots don’t give the birds away to schools, old people’s homes etc or am I trying to live in eutopia. Surely it would foster goodwill amongst the general public.

Trying to get emergency appointment at the mo. Face is swelled and throbbing. Antibiotics and ibuprofen not touching it. It’s nearly impossible around here if you’re not registered!
I find soluble Codis - 2 works wonders for the pain. Obviously only do that for max 3 days.

So sorry this has happened, just so horrible. I obviously hope they are caught and your possessions returned. It’s a crime I think should have stronger consequences.

The furtherest clay I shoot at the moment is ~65 yards, as measured with google map, it's perhaps 1/2 to 3/4 face. It's pretty shootable, and I only miss it when I'm not 'on' it, I've never felt my cartridge/choke combination let me down on that one... I shoot 28g CompX fiber, which isn't known for speed nor density of pattern. 1/2 or 3/4 choke. Still breaks them.
Some people shoot that one even further out on it's path (it goes from bottom left of square to bottom right) -- but I'm not sure what their setups are.
1/4 and a 1/2 usually first barrel it either joke does - 28 Fiocchi TT1 plastic

Not when you’ve convinced yourself that those you love are better off without you. There is no rational thinking when you’ve got yourself to that point. It is absolutely heartbreaking for those left behind I agree but maybe if they had one moment in the mind of that individual and felt as they did it would be easier to understand. Just my opinion
