Like i said my Howa had the laminate not the Hogue so i have no idea what that weighs, i do know the laminate is close to 3 lbs and i saved over a 1lb fitting the PSE stock. Howas are not the lightest of rifles, i ended up getting the barrel chopped to 18" on mine to save more weight and make it more practical for stalking.
You need the aluminium bedded Hogue stock if you want to stop the flex, or a Boyds as said, the laminate IS heavy and slippy when wet. My Howa had a Boyds stock, now it has a PSE carbon/kevlar stock, very light, very rigid but expensive too.
The stocks are different on the sporter and varmint too, so it depends on what you like,a heavy barrel is not needed on a rimfire though, they never heat up.
Clarity and light gathering is fantastic on the fixed German scopes but they do have thick reticles designed for stalking, not paper punching or shooting crows etc, for fox and deer out to 150/200 yards they cannot be beat imo.
I have two jills that are still in season, they are fine otherwise, i left them as i do not want kits this year and decided to let nature run its course. I thought the season would have finished by now though?
Thought they were starting to get more popular, i have owned a HW95 and a Lightning and prefer the Diana, seem to swap air rifles pretty regularly though so it may be gone soon
Check everything is tight, mod, scope, stock screws and try again with different rounds, i stopped using prvi because they were very inconsistent, one box great, next lot shotgun.
Thought i better sign up after following this forum for a while, 47 years young, FAC and soon SGC, Lakie, ferrets and fishing just about sums it up! Oh, and from tyneside!
