Thinking about looking in for feeding with a trailed spinning game feed wonder has any body got any ideas. which is the best cause it is a going to a big outlay for a syndicate shoot . And is it worth going for a fix spinner in my ATV ??????

Hi how old is your duck , we always feed a few pellets with the grain barley or wheat on the banks then move them away from the pond after a few weeks and when they start to fly start to cut them back or they will not fly . And try to get them to fly just before they finish feeding only once a week or they will get to Lazy . Try on shoot days to push them to fly on windy days to start with.

Hi i have been using a dog food with added Chondroitin and Glucosamine for years but the price in the last 3 months have increased ever month .I am paying £ 22.50 a bag with delivery of 32 bags a lot of money to find over a period of time. I wonder if anyone has a cheaper price with the added ingredients my dogs work once a week . and they are Adult dogs

We paid a deposit for our poults and have the invoice , but having real problems getting deposit back ,he said he could not supply at the price me gave me in February and wanted £10 a poult which our syndicate could not pay ,we said we have to cancel the order. what to do next

Problem with buzzards attacking and killing poults in pens , do flying kites work or are there any other ideas .

Lost shooting ground can we take down or is the Law a phaeasant pen is a structure

Thanks for your Help ,if it does happen we will have to use wheat sparingly, the cost to feed up too next year will be a lot to cover ,only thing if we can hold them we might be able to cut back on Poults Fingers Cross .

Hi If there are no Pheasant shooting this season ,do anybody know if it is Possible to keep them for the following Season. Seeing cover crops will be gone and if we add more Poults will they pull them away from pens ,and if I an keep them would it be better if I Spin wheat to keep cost down, we are only a Syndicate . I tried contacting BASC but are closed due to Shut down . any ideas Alan

Hi We have ordered the same as last year cover crops will be planted in the next couple of weeks and have back my Suppliers if not they will not be there next year . Fingers crossed and everything else.

We use Manola feeder but later on in season deer keep nocking the tops off , we do shoot the deer but still some will lift them off on if it rains wheat goes off any suggestions

Hi we are thinking of using Automatic feeders on our syndicate shoot , if they do work where would you place them around the shoot we have a lot of cover crops and wooded areas. i am hoping it will help on cutting down on feed cost Or will it I am using about 25 tonne of wheat and about 8 tonne of barley for the duck ponds . and where is this best value feeders and is it better to use a solar panel as well And how many do you think we will need on about 800 acres . Bit harsh all my men and woman have been with me for about 15 years they all shoot, they have two boundaries days shooting up to 60 pheasants and mallard all driven ,full beaters day on Boxing Day bag around 110 pheasants and duck and a last day clear up bag this year was 85 in total. I book a meal in one of our top hotels , beaters have free meal drinks and allows presents for farmers and beaters a raffle money going to Air Ambulance .

Thanks for your words we all muck in and I run the shoot for nothing , and always look after all my beaters , the land we Shoot on are very testing birds and steep valleys in South Devon. Regards Alan

How many small syndicate shoots offer two outside days shooting up to 60 a day and full days Boxing Day driven shooting up to 120 a day and love training there dog’s including dog in pheasants , with a dinner and presents drinks at a top class hotel at the end of the season. If the shoot could afford it we would pay , I run the shoot for nothing cause I like being in the countryside and working with the Boys and Girls they are a great lot ( they have been with us for up to 15 years so we must be doing something right ) biggest problem is the ground rent and cover crop ground rent . Looking for picker ups and beaters on farm syndicate , 4000 poults and 800 mallard Shooting over 7farms in South Devon. no payment ,bacon baps in morning sausages midday pasties dinner time . BUT two outside days and a full day BOXING day shooting on all driven drives ( 5drives a day ). must be friendly men or woman ( we have over 5 woman beaters and the are good )
