  1. Yeah this is the one. m.gunstar.co.uk/benjamin-marauder-22-air-rifles-for-sale-in-nottinghamshire/Air-Guns/675196 If you like a fettle they are great. Has orings for bstaley mod as well. With the reg I got 38 shots at 30fpe. This one is super accurate with cp 14.4 and baracudas
  2. I refinish a fair few stocks. I find blending my own oils is best. BLO heavy blend will give you grainier pop. Ccl is fine but you pay a lot for some alkanet oil (darkens the grain and reddens the wood) some hardener and a blo mix. Could get that all seperate for the same price but would make loads
  3. Very welcoming club. Red beard is a good chappy. (For the most part). I've not been up there long but my shooting off hand has improved a lot imo since meeting with redbeard and co
  4. Am I able to attend? Just stumbled on this thread.
  5. I'd fill that in if I were you.. Colin is a top bloke and true to his word.
  6. There's a slight ark in my stock. This means the recoil pad isn't flushing up against the stock. Should I sand the ark out!
  7. They aren't too far. But I managed to get hold of them today. Just annoyed as everyone seems to get a 1-2 week turnaround and I've been chasing a 1-2 month turnaround. Should be with me bye Thursday. If not I'm going postal
  8. I sent my barrels (shotgun) for a reblue on the 23/10/2013. Looking at a 2 week turn around. It's taken a month for them to even start them. They are finished now and was promised invoice and return by last week. Closing in on 2 months and I can't get hold of them. What to do?? I just want to pay for the job and have my barrels so I can shoot.
  9. Well I took it to a chap who polishes metal for me. He made short work of it and got it close so that I can finish it with my sander. Oh and it cost me **** all
  10. Might have to give it a go. No chance I'm paying £40-£65 to have a guy grind a pad down.
  11. I've only got a disc sander and reckon it would be a right ball ache doing it like that. For this one I'll get someone else to do it. On a cheapo sabel i have I'll give it a go
  12. Hey fella. This area is saturated with guns. It seems very difficult to get permissions. Keep your chin up and keep knocking doors. Hopefully you'll get something soon. (I'm in the same boat)
  13. Cheers fella. I'll give them a shout.
  14. Any one know where to get a recoil pad ground to size in notts? Have a new one for my shotgun and need it fitting really. Any info appreciated
  15. It's not often I write to praise or complain about the service I receive (can't be *****). However I just thought is share my experience with a RFD near me. I've been to a few rfd in the notts/derby area. Many seem to be stuck up, snobbish types that don't want to know unless you paying out ££££ for some top of the range bit of kit. Only a couple are down to earth and a pleasure to be in. Refreshingly I went to walkers of trowell to use them to send a rifle back to manufacture. I have to say it's not the biggest, best cheapest etc. But what they lack they indeed make up for in customer service. No matter what I go in for they are more than happy to help or order parts in etc. Nothing is a bother. Nothing too small or petty. Just happy to have custom. And for this they gain my loyalty. I just wish more RFDS were like this rather than looking down their nose at you. Any one else have an rfd they always use because of their service ?
  16. Well. Trekked down to Bedford to see colin. WHAT A TOP BLOKE! Rugby bikes and shooting. Spot on. Apart from nearly dLling asleep at the wheel on the way home it was a great nights shoot. If Colin extends his hospitality to you you would be a fool not to go out with him. Really pleasant guy and we saw plenty rabbits and shot a few when I wasn't coming up with excuses for my shoddiness. Thanks colin You are a leg end.
  17. Cheers Jim. Don't forget to sort a memory pen out.
  18. Hahaha. I realised when I got home that my mod was loose;) I suppose going out on Bedfordshire fireworks night isn't too helpful. I had a great crack colin! Was a good night for sure. Colin did his best to get out and get us as many bunnies as possible. Would have been more If I could hit anything. However I suppose the give away was when Colin would say take that one it's about 50yards (whilst chuckling) and when you miss and walk up it's about 80 yards! If you go bout with Colin take a hmr so if he tries to sabotage your shot hell have think of something new . Top bloke and well worth the trek. If he offer to take you out. Bite his hand off, actually don't, just gives him an excuse to miss.
  19. Bonza! I'll give it a bash. See how I get on.
  20. Well. Some crows sit in it. That the kinda thing I'm talking about. They are on clover. But great flight lines.
  21. In the field I want to decoy. It seems the best place Is near the middle. There seem to be flight lines and a specific area they like to feed. Problem is there is no cover. The only thing is a dead tree with no branches the kinda thing you see vulchers on in Africa. If a set up a hide there it would stick out like a sore thumb. Is it worth setting up a week before so the pigeons are used to it?
  22. S Pete,, anytime I'm down your more than welcome. I was last down a few weeks ago and there lots of the blighters running round. I'll give you a heads up on my next visit. All the best mate Ash
  23. What connection is it ? 2.5mm jack, rca or USB ?
  24. Will be off down in a couple of weeks. Just sorting it around work etc. Looking forward to it though. Seems like a top bloke.
