  1. Due to an upgrade to FAC shotgun I have for sale 2 x Beretta AL391 Urika Semi Auto's.

1 x Black Synthetic (Sold subject to completion) and 1 x Wooded stock. (Now sold)

Both have 28" barrel, five chokes and key, Beretta hard case, spare recoil pad and are in excellent condition.

I am asking £550 each, face to face preferred but could arrange RFD to RFD at buyers cost.

    Please PM with any questions.

    Wooden sold.

    Synthetic sold subject to completion.

  2. Nice to see you back YP!

After having owned both calibers, I always opted for the .25-06 when stalking Fallow and Red. The heavier bullet choice

    swayed me.

I have no doubts that the .243 will kill them cleanly, but the .25-06 was a real 'confidence giver' and never failed

to do the job, and does give you that little more margin for error.

  3. The Vauxall Corsa Add where the knitted dolls just shout 'COME ON'...what the hell is that all about???

Any add where they SHOUT at you.

On the opposite side....the best add in the world has to be comparethemeerkats.com...brilliant!!

  4. Now i know this may seem an odd question but someone once told me that i higher caliber may be a safer round as the greater weight of the bullet means it falls faster now is this true or utter bull ****?

It may be true from the laws of physics point of view, but from the firearms safety point of view it is total and utter ****!

I suggest you take no notice whatsoever of the person who gave you that piece of information.

  5. This playground terminology, born of ignorance, is used by kids playing cowboys and indians, ill informed journos and your Mum  Grown ups on a shooting forum surely know better, don't they? Here endeth the lesson  One, two three and relax............ That's better

    Spot on Blunderbuss :good::lol:

I guess the above also applies to those that shoot 'shotties' instead of shotguns, and go 'pigeoning' instead of pigeon shooting, both terms

used on this forum far too often, probably by people who will 'c u later m8'.

  6. I go to Edge Hill occasionally, and used to go to Cropredy every week.

Cropredy is great, but unfortunately it got a bit 'samey' after a few years, there is only so much

you can do with eight traps in a couple of flat fields. Good training ground for beginners though.

  7. UKV was a brilliant site at first, but unfortunately the Mods just held too tight a rein.

Recently a member offered a product for sale. It was in direct competition to one of the Mods company products.....so the member

    was banned.

Many posts were simply deleted, without explanation, if you disagreed with the Mods.

When a forum gets to that state I think it is correct that it shuts down.

Luckily PW Mods are a good lot and do the job as it should be done.

  8. Just in after a very good sporting day.....

Got up at stupid o'clock and took the Sako .260 to stalk and shoot a nice Fallow buck I've been watching.

Then onto some pigeons that have been hitting the rape, accounting for 38 along with half a dozen crows, two squirrels and a jay.

Then spent the evening duck flighting and accounted for 2 Canadas, 4 Mallard and a Teal, and all the ducks retrieved by my young sprocker which was a bonus.

Then out tonight with the Sako 6BR and ended up with 5 foxes and a mixy rabbit.

Finishing the day off with a large Jura malt and a stupid grin..............Wonderfull!

  9. True out and out wildcats need a rifle made specially to the calibre. Like I said, thats not cheap. No reloading data available either and you will probably have to get the cases specially made for you as well. Its not for the ordinary shooter,

But that's the fun about running a wildcat.

I run a '6.5Nemasis' built up from Rem700 short action, border cut barrel, jewel trigger, Wild Dog stock,

    pushes a 6.5mm 123gn Scenar at 3000fps, from 38gns N150 out of a modified 22.250 case,

is superbly accurate out to 600 yards (Thats as far as I've tested her so far...)

and the best bit......no one else in the whole world has a rifle like it!!!!

  10. I would try and go straight in for the calibre you want, not a compromise caliber. If you have a good reason for a .243 then apply for one. Not wanting to start a debate here but alot of stalkers reckon that muntjac are tough critters and that to a certain degree, the bigger the calibre the better.

    Scolpax is spot on!

If you can justify a rifle for deer stalking (OK maybe it's the smaller species at the moment), then go for a caliber that will allow you to move on to larger species if you so wish.

  11. how much would you be willing to bet that my licence states .22cf?

your not that far from me so would be willing to prove it!

I'm not a gambling man so won't be taking you up on your first offer.

As for your second offer....no need to prove anything, I wasn't calling you a liar, just asking a question....unless you feel you really need to prove it.

  12. first application I put in was or a .22rf when flo came out ater a chat added .22cf and mod so makes your satement wrong in my case

Maybe I'm missing something here, but since when have licensing authorities covered all .22 centerfire calibers under .22cf?

Surely if you had been granted authority to purchase any .22 centrefire caliber it would state that particular caliber for which you

    had requested. i.e. .22Hornet, .222, .223, .22-250, .220Swift etc etc

  13. I need to buy some more Two Way Radios for the shoot this season, can anyone recommend what is good

    and/or what is bad?

I don't want cheap, but would rather pay more to get kit that will last.

    Any experiences?
