  1. Thanks all, just didn’t want to fall foul at a later date 👍
  2. Cool 👍 I mean I don’t mind if I did have to but didn’t want to get in trouble if I didn’t etc etc
  3. Basically do you have to inform the relevant firearms authority about a new partner and her daughter moving into the property where you hold the licence and shotguns? Struggled to find any help on google...
  4. Admin, forgive me if this is in the wrong place, please move if required. Due to divorce and long working hours, I am reluctantly having to re-home my two dogs and looking for good homes for them both. Stolli (rough Hair) is 10 years old whole bitch (1/2 wheaton x bull greyhound), very loving dog, like to get loads of attention, not in need of too much exercise now a days but still like good walks. Due to her being ex working lurcher cannot be re-homed with cats or other small furry creatures and as such cannot be let off the lead in public places (care must be taken around any brave bold cats that want to stand their ground when she’s on the lead as she will want to pull to get at them). She does not get on with other dominant dogs and shows some nervous aggression. Ok with “settled” dogs if introduced correctly. Other than other animals she is lovely with people, always looking for fuss and excellent with children. Luna (smooth blue) is a six years old whole bitch (multi mix saluki, Bedlington, whippet, bull greyhound). Very energetic and loves the ball. Again due to the nature of the dog cannot be re-homed with cats or other small furry creatures and again care must be taken around any brave bold cats that want to stand their ground when she’s on the lead as she will want to pull to get at them). She’s not so much loving as the other but loves spending time in the garden playing with the ball, if she’s working/chasing she’s happy. Again unadvisable to walk her off the lead due her liking to chase. Can be very excitable and bouncy at times around people so care to be taken around small children but again very good around all family members. Comes from a long line of very good working lurchers. Both dogs are kennelled trained and very clean while in the kennel. Would like them to go together ideally but would split them up if they get the right home. We are located in Gainsborough, Lincs DN21
  5. This is my gun, forgotten I'd done a little re-firb on it.. Only gone and loaded the wrong photos Stock doesn't look a "little used" as much now Please go to full article to see updated photos
  6. Well what a guy, top gent, jolly nice fellow.... Managed to get home without incident... Thanks for the coffee and chat, nice to meet you... Thanks again and all the best
  7. lol Lincolnshire... the only county without a motorway!..its a good 3hours without any delay... but like you said ... bargain!
  8. Oh go on then... its only a road trip! You have a PM!
  9. If only you were nearer!!!
  10. Small magnet superglued under anywhere... bottom of drawer... behind mirror.... etc ... key just stick there! As people have said... keys in a safe 10 mins max to get in and then bingo away with your guns or they could be looking for hours for a "hiding place"... I know which one I would class as "reasonable precautions"
  11. Cheers hatsan, some good advice. The reason I didn't want a o/u was from using it in the hide... I seem to find autos/pumps easier to load /use etc without snagging the hide especially if I can't make it big enough. Hadn't discounted A hatsan but mates had them fall to bit and hear more "don't buy" than "buy". Hmm what to do!! Wanted 12g as don't want to buy two guns... need it for general pigeon/Vermin use. Like to look if the BPS though... but the 12 only has 3 inch chamber
  12. Thanks all for the input.... so any lefties out there had issues shooting right handed autos? powder residue in the eye etc?

  15. This is where I am heading I think... If in the future I believe that 3.5 inch will offer me any more advantage and if I am shooting geese on a regular basis I can get a dedicated gun for this.
  16. Just not sure about RH autos Welsh as I don't fancy and eye full of gas and bits every now and again... I've heard it make you swear a lot!
  17. Right, this is something that seems to split the crowd... I'm left handed and currently shoot o/u for game and pigeons and have 20g pump (with both normal and hushpower barrels) for vermin/pigeon work. I possibly have the opportunity this year for some foreshore and Scotland goose shooting. Talking to the lads that shoot this they use 3.5 inch home loads and they swear by them (and recommend i get one) So.... I am looking for an all round 12g for pigeon/hide/rough work....and for foreshore and Scottish geese. Dont mind shooting right handed pump (as I have one) and get on quite well with it.... So not sure what to go for...and don't want to spend a fortune on a gun (say up to £500) The first question for me would be... is 3.5inch essential for goose shooting? As this will dictate what I need.... But is a 3.5 inch chambered gun ok for shooting 30g 6 or 5's for 95% of its life.. (i've heard about damaging forcing cones by shooting 2 3/4 carts in 3.5 inch chamber) What are the collective thoughts... Looked at Auto (in left hand flavour) Franchi Afinity (but dont do 3.5) Benelli BE2 (expensive) Beretta (expensive) Hatstands (cheap and falls to bits?) Pumps (right hand as they are more common) Benelli Super Nova Winchester SXP Mossberg
  18. I use them on all my guns and take one out when its wet... this way all the time the gun is in the car after shooting its the sock drawing as much water out of the gun as possible (rather than sitting in a damp slip) When the gun gets home its cleaned, dried then put in another (dry) sock for the cabinet. I call them my gun sleeping bags lol I also use remington
  19. Yildiz? Alloy bodies make them about 6.5lb cheap yet functional gun.
  20. It should automatically (within a few hours) be posted in the PW private sale section
  21. My two peneth worth... First gun larouna o/u 14 1/4 LOP... thought this gun "fit" me and shot what I thought was ok for me (about 50% of targets) Now shoot a Browning 725 Game with a LOP at 14 3/4 as over the years I have improved my mount, stance, footwork and shooting style. As have only ever had one lesson and have been self taught (and self corrected) the correct shooting style was acquired over time. With lessons this would have been shorter but in my experience when I first picked a gun up in a shop I was not stood correctly or mounting it correctly to accurately judge the LOP was correct. I could tell you cast was more or less ok but not LOP. BTW No issues with my 725 in regard to rust
  22. A lovely heart felt account of what is a hard time for any devoted dog owner....I shed a tear reading this as I know the friendship, strength and enjoyment that our companions bring us but more so the pain when they leave us. RIP George...
  23. My mother said I was special... I went to an approved school and everything!
