Sorry but I have seen the damage the crows have done to greens ,even though this isn’t a good enough reason to bring in control measures the problem still exists. The costs of getting a green to a good standard is a little more than just running the Flymo over the top of it once a week.

Brilliant thanks guys , the red list is definitely worth looking at. Possibly written consent with the club listing the the affected species. If they can provide information of birds on the course surely that should be enough.

Cheers old’un really appreciate any advice, your thoughts are the same as mine why rock the boat when you’ve got a chance for plenty rabbits. Unfortunately the problem isn’t going to get any better for the golf course and GL make things very difficult for everyone (those trying to abide to the law and them trying to enforce it)

This was what I was hoping for someone telling me it’ll all be ok and to get myself out and set the hide up on 16th green 😀

Now now gentlemen let’s not get upset just because golf was mentioned. To be clear on this my original point is I’ve been asked by a golf course to help out , not so much the pigeons but more so crows and rabbits, my point being I can’t see how under the new GL crows pigeons or most bird for that matter could be shot on a golf course .

Thanks for that , I’ve looked at this before and I can’t see anything to justify bird control on a golf course and was wondering what everyone else’s interpretation is?

Could anyone let me know if shooting pigeons/crows ect on a golf course fall under any general license? Any advice would be much appreciated

Well it was going to be a semi for an all rounder rough gun but yesterday a lanber o/u came up at VERY good price from a friend so may go down that route. Any you recommend?

Haha Cheers It was sgc seem to take forever but reading other posts it seems pretty fast

Could this just be the mechanics of how an auto works ? And Lycra , why not change your underwear !! hehe sorry
-
Well it looks like it's a semi I have had a look at a hatsan escort which for £310 new is pretty good value . After speaking about the previously mentioned cycling problems, the RFD said they find they cycle no problem with anything over 24g (I think he said) . Which I think shouldn't be an issue. 3year warranty inc 👍🏼

Either Steve smiths or bywell mate . Will by trying to get as much practice as possible before getting out .
-
P.S Anything you would recommend as first gun for under £400 don't mind s/h or new , just something decent quality which should last .

Thanks a lot It helps to get honest opinions from people who aren't trying to sell you something. It's the fact I don't see the point of buying an o/u for clays and a semi for pigeons and wildfowling when I could be getting a better shot with one tool so to speak.
