  1. 5L Water bottle £1.10 Airlock £2.50 Boyes/Wilkinson Old wine bottles Free Orange |Juice 49p (Tesco) 1Kg Sugar 45p (Aldi) Tub of yeast to make 40 x5L £3.00 (Boyes/Wilkinson) Tube = Siphon £2.00 (Boyes/Wilkinson) Other bits like Glycerine and nutrients are not needed, but a good idea. Consumables will cost you £2.00 per 5L, the rest is rinse and repeat. I have only been doing it for a couple of years, but now have about 50-60L of wine ready for my glass, RS PS Boyes and Wilkinson are just cheapy places we do a lot of Hardware shopping in,
  2. Ha! My kids went to school there. And I thought I was all alone in the world, Cheers, RS
  3. If I remember right it was 100 & 200m with covered shooting area. 200m would be plenty for me RS
  4. I'll come along, nice part of the world. I will be the worst shot there but, hey ho, RS
  5. Mayfair is where I have been for PSG with a standard pump action, it was great fun, and I hit everything, so all good. Opening hours at Oak lodge is a negative, but they are also building outdoor .22 etc ranges there, so I can get some outdoor distance shooting. I will probably go off to Carlisle some time, Have in-laws there so OH can see family while I do not have to. RS
  6. Hi Chilly, I've been up to Oak lodge in Hartlepool before but not to others yet. I have shot many years ago, so, given all the rule changes, consider myself a newbie. If ever you could use extra hands then let me know, or if you have opportunities for a beginner I'll gladly step up. Thanks, RS
  7. Done the IT contractor bit, like you, took no joy from it and lot of cr*p. 2008 came along and everything changed, no work at all. Worked my own "Creperie" on markets, great in good weather and busy market, -£100 a day when it is not. Moved into "Flossies" on market, fantastic, but the fad faded. Now work in chemical company writing (copying) specifications onto Word template, upload to SAP. The job is awful, but easy. 8 - 4, Mon - Fri and 35 days Hol. Money is easily -75% of IT contract, but I used my contract money well (house, savings, not cars and Exotica. Would have avoided personal pension too if I had known). Now, with kids more or less gone I am doing "my" things. Looking at my own little quail coop (NOT commercial, just me and mine) and looking for outdoor shooting, hence here. Work, for the most part, is only a means to getting cash to do what you want the other 30% of the time. RS
  8. Just make your own: http://forum.craftbrewing.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=454 Juice wines are really great, and with so many fruit and veg juices available these days you are bound to find your own "yellowtail jammy red roo" RS
  9. High to all from sunny Teesside. Just got my FAC and SGC, shoot at local club, but it is a bit cramped @25yrds, looking for more open space. Always got this site in searches for information so thought it might be a good start. Returning to shooting now the children are gone, more or less. More time and more cash. Going to try PSG (Mossberg 590?) Clays (some semi-auto?) and would like to go out field walking (Ruger 77/357? or 17hmr?) Plinking in back yard with SMK thumb-hole. There are some local shooters around because I have heard them out behind my house, just have to track them down (carefully). Thanks, RS
