  1. Unfortunately the main problem for a meeting of 'members' is going to be the fact that we are spread across the whole country! It will more than likely end up being members in roughly the same area sorting something out amongst themselves, so lets see what happens and await the photos and posts.
  2. Let us know how it performs, when are you taking it out and what cartridges are you using ?
  3. Any chance of some pictures ?
  4. An interesting idea ! Any ideas ? There is The European Side by Side Competition at E.J.Churchills ( Date not yet announced ) British Side by Side Championship at Atkin, Grant & Lang on 25/08/18
  5. I may have started the thread! But JJsDad was there right from the beginning, he contacted the moderators and many PMs went between us. I think we have both been very pleased with the response and the manner in which people have approached it, it is really everyone that has posted on here that ultimately turned a question into what is now Side by Side Club It would also be good to see some modern SBS and hear about peoples experiences of them, also some non expensive, all should be welcome and indeed all are of interest! Long live Side by Side Club
  6. I have an AYA No.2 that would benefit from a complete makeover, would be interesting to see what results could be achieved.
  7. Came across this, Case hardened effect with cold gun blue, interesting!
  8. How about just plain 'wrong' ! Barrels wrong way round, wrong weight........ just wrong! Have you seen the new 'fad' of having plastic scaffolding on the top rib of wrong guns, what the hell is that all about ? That is a cracking No.2
  9. OU that is a swear word in this club
  10. Lokoks like an AYA No.2 ! Good amount of case hardening still there, very nice !
  11. I was told around 1900 but not sure how true that is.
  12. I have a Thomas Wild identical to yours, had it since I was 17, shot my first driven pheasant with it.
  13. That's good, still not a proper gun though
  14. Yep still there They are well known locally for their over pricing ! They also have an AYA 117 pretending to be a Countryman ( that is a gun and not me )
  15. This is how AYA made them, sorry about the non 'proper' gun at the end !
  16. Thank you for the link, that looks like a real fun day !
  17. Now that is good to see, out on the marsh and not sat in a gun cabinet only to be looked at ! Imagine if the people involved in its creation could see it still being used 122yrs later.
  18. That is stunning piece of wood !
  19. Hey ! It is now an 'official' Side by Side Club !!!!
  20. Welcome back! 28 years is a long time on the dark side
  21. I love hearing things like this, a gun taken from the edge of being scrapped and put back to it's former glory. It amazes me how some people treat their guns, yes they were made to be used, but to be abused, well done and a fine looking example it is .
  22. I know what you mean, if anything can be done please do put up some pictures !
  23. I think we have made one all on our own, so lets keep it going and hope it is made 'official'
