  1. Nobody made you read it, so 'move on'
  2. I agree, a real bargain, well done
  3. Similar, but the one that Hairysausage fingers has got looks to have a rounded action.
  4. Look on the bright side, it is only 6 days to the end of the month and you have a cracking new gun. The triggers look like they are set for right handed!
  5. Very nice indeed, think you got yourself a real bargain there
  6. I just got an AYA brochure from 1962. In 1962 a No.1 was £175 and a No.2 was £93, according to google the average wage was £799 In 2018 a No.1 is £14,000 and a No.2 is £6,300, again from google the average wage is £25,000 So as a percentage of the average wage they have near as dam it doubled in price! How times change.
  7. Well written and very sound advice
  8. Cabelas northern flight is good.
  9. Wonder how these would compare to their modern rivals
  10. Yes the HYMAX were a very good cartridge in their day, I shot lots of them. Then went over to HULL ULTRAMAX as I liked them even more.
  11. This one is in the case for my 20 bore, I wonder how many different ones there are ? This is my favourite one Yours must predate 1875, as there is no mention of winning in that year!
  12. Shame they do not make the one on the left anymore 'Guaranteed accuracy' I would use nothing else!
  13. Yes, but these were very long shadows and looked out of place, sounds odd I know but that was all I changed and it worked!
  14. Very true, one morning on fresh sown barley, everything was going well and the birds were coming like they were on rails, then a rook got to about 70 yards and turned back when this happened twice more I got out of the hide. It was clear that my decoys ( on 12" sticks ) were casting shadows in the early low sun, took them all off the sticks, got back in the hide and the birds started coming in again! I do not think a pigeon would have noticed this.
  15. Think that applies to all! You can decoy them to where they want to be or to where they do not mind being, if they do not want to be there you could put out 200 decoys and they will still not land.
  16. This is an interesting thread, have not looked inside this box for years.
  17. Very sad, as I believe AYAs pair for life.
  18. I wonder what happened to No.1 of the pair ? And being a pair I assume there should be a makers case for them.
  19. Now that is a gun I would like to own
  20. I hope to find an AYA Model 56 being sold as an £800 No.2, bet it never works that way around.
  21. And on Gunstar there is a Countryman pretending to be a 722, but it is a good price for a good condition Countryman.
  22. The stock from the No.2 3" Showing the same attention to detail as the one from 1964, this was however a replacement stock, anyone know who the stocker was?
  23. If you mean the one for sale in Hampshire selling for £1,950 it is a model 722 and not a No.2 hence the lack of engraving.
