  1. I can't believe that i'm hearing some of these anti gun arguements on this forum. I've heard 'weapons of war', 'i agree with bans on AR15's and AK varients'. What the hell is and isn't or hasn't been a weapon of war? By that logic a musket is a weapon of war and ought to be banned... yet they're not, and funnily enough many types are completely legal without any kind of licence (as far as I'm aware, at least) Can people stop using 'AR15' OR 'AK' as a justification on the evilness of that certain firearm? Other than calibre there isn't all that much difference between that and a M&p 22 or a Ruger 10/22. Are they not viable firearms? As many have mentioned, there's been little to no change in the amount of gun crime prevented by these bans, on the contrary, illegal use has continued. Where is the logic? No wonder americans fight so hard against any change. We gave some in the 20's and 30's and steadily lost our rights and privelidges from then on out. You're entitled to an opinion, but that doesnt mean you're right.
  2. Im surprised we have any hobbies or pastime's left considering some of the comments on here. How can some of you be anti gun when you own guns? No wonder the uk has these restrictions when we have such divides in the gun owning community. I doubt we will continue to have the privelidges we currently hold with the attitudes shown by some posts here.
  3. fair point, he didn't, me jumping the gun so to speak. I agree with you I was trying to put another angle on it which hadn't been mentioned.
  4. Is it just me or is this all slightly one sided? What you're forgetting to think about here is the fact that there were two armed trespassers on this land. We have very little information telling us exactly what happened, and at this point we assume they were just poaching? Hypothetically speaking what if as we've seen/heard about recently they were in fact attempting to attack and/or steal this blokes firearm? We don't have enough information to accurately depict what happened or could have. He acted in a way he believed was appropriate at the time, I suppose. However wrong. Don't get me wrong though, his actions were not in any way the correct thing to do at any time ever unless your life is in imminent danger (correct action would be to get out of there and call the police) but it's very easy to judge people when you're not in that exact position. Revoking his licence was a good thing for everyone's safety including his own supposing that the information we have is the complete story. I feel dirty for empathetically defending the muppet now lol
  5. Sounds like a hedgehog, the missus has one as a pet and I often think someone has broken in at night or I think she's arrived back from work and is making weird noises.
  6. I realise it hasn't been very long yet (4 weeks), but as others have mentioned I've called once a week just to check all is ok, however every time I call I am told a completely different waiting time. At first I was told upto 6 weeks as currently not a busy time for them and most recently I've been told that it will take 12 weeks. A little consistency would be nice. Or a date even if 2 months away for an interview would be appreciated as I can't just book a day off whenever I feel like it. Ahh well...
  7. Good stuff mate! 24 days in for me and still in processing pile on desk apparently. I guess it just gives me more time to decide on which shotgun I'm going to buy haha.
  8. Good stuff mate. Won't be long now, then you can go and spend far too much money on a nice new shotgun haha.
  9. isn't the problem being that they may not find your reasoning behind needing the knife valid? To you it would be a genuine reason but to them an excuse. I always wonder about the mental state of those who make these laws and rules as it wouldn't cross my mind to attack someone nor use a 2.5" knife to attack anyone, and yet that is exactly what they think it will be used for if no good reason is given. Preparedness is a need to which I doubt is allowed. This is exactly the same problem with many bans/laws in this country, they're presuming everyone is guilty before proving otherwise which is completely against the ethical code of this country!
  10. So many I can't have but ahh well. m1 Garand or lee Enfield no.4 mk1 Shotgun would be an Ithaca 37!
  11. Hopefully prices go down on imports from US when we leave the EU. But I've noticed this as well!
  12. Hopefully Derby are fairly speedy! Called them yesterday and received a fairly blunt response. I suppose it has only been 9 days! Anybody had recent experience with Derby and how long it took them approximately? Cheers! (Good luck today Evo!)
