  1. Very decent of you, however my wife has just sorted out a nice leather cartridge bag from eBay. Second hand but looks a little worn, which is good. Game bag is a curiosity. Don't do enough walked up shooting to warrant one. Pheasants on the shoot are carried on a game carrier until they reach the quad. If I need a game bag, I know where to find them. Thank you.
  2. I'm looking for a cartridge bag at the moment and happened upon game bags in my search. What's the net for? Any ideas? Is it a fishing thing? Asked a member of staff in my local "country store" and she admitted that while she stocks them, she had no idea about the net! Cheers
  3. Admin, please remove this from sale. Now advertised elsewhere. Many thanks for your time.
  4. Barrels measured at 27 1/2 inches and fixed chokes thought to be 1/2 and 1/4.
  5. Thanks for your opinion. Much appreciated.
  6. I'd be surprised if it wasn't. I'm not sure the National Trust would allow it's Adders to become trained killers. Especially as they have enough trouble organising their parking on a sunny day....... Are you local to Frensham? I beat near there.
  7. Find out if there's crayfish in your area. Approach an angling club to see if there's a population and if they want help. Apply for license from the EA, one pet trap. Bait with anything from cat food to fish guts. Meaty works well. Take home your spoils and enjoy!
  8. I have a Lanber Field 12G shotgun featuring multi chokes with four lug holes. I like the idea of the friction choke key Teague style that prevents over tightening. Does anyone have one going spare please?
  9. Before I married into my wife's family, I went for supper at my brother in law's house. As I was new blood, my 4 year old niece was clammering for my attention. Lee, Lee, Lee, Leeee, Leeeeeeeee, Leeeeeeeeef! And it stuck. Mainly a family thing, however I've been called worse!
  10. I think the key thing is to sell them on to the pubs and restaurants whole and possibly live. Under a commercial licence of course. I boiled my share of 120 and gave away 40 of those to a neighbour who also likes a brace of pheasants too. Shelling 80 was a chore. Tasty but still a chore!
  11. Using fish off cuts from the fish monger, we baited and laid 14 traps on a local lake this weekend. Permission and permits are in place from the EA I might add. Laid and lifted 3 times we caught 215 of the little *******! A tasty morsel, makes you feel you're doing your bit and good fun as the kids squeal while picking them up. Anyone else? Would they go well with a Grey Squirrel? Pigeon and Crayfish paella?
  12. Thanks all. I don't think i'll use the process for buying or selling now. Much appreciated for the education.
  13. Hi Tomto. Same question as AdamSouthEast. Days and numbers please? I beat on a shoot in Frensham however my Working Cocker and I may be able to help you out too. Thanks.
  14. I often see people selling firearms quoting face to face collection or collection via an RFD. Can anyone explain to me how the RFD bit works please, and is there a set price? Thanks
  15. Hi, yes ducks, pheasants and I believe teal. It's a game gun, 12 gauge, single trigger, 70mm chambers, ejector and multi choke. I'm intrigued by the checkering on the forend as it's different to others, having a peak in the V of the grip. I've searched and searched and believe it can't be dated by the serial number, only the proof marks. Shoots great, it's a keeper.
  16. Hi, I appreciate this has been asked before, and I have searched the forum, however.... Can you date a Lanber Field from a serial number? I've contacted GMK but they can't find it on their database. It's a six figure number followed by gauge (12) and chamber size (70). I'd also like to know if the model is correct as the checkering is different to other fields I've seen online. I'll post some photos. Is it bad form to post the serial number? Thanks in advance.
  17. Do you or are you thinking of shooting at Headley Shooting Club near Country Market? Clay shoot runs every other Saturday morning. 50 or 100 clays. A little slow but some nice people and good fun.
  18. Tikka, I'm not sure if I sent you a pm or not however thank you for your kind offer. I am sorted now. Apologies for my tardy reply.
  19. I'm about to sell a Baikal over and under if you're interested. Double trigger, ejector, barely a ding in the wood and bluing in great nick. Good condition, replaced by a different shotgun hence now surplus to requirements. I live in Hindhead and work in Oakhanger near Bordon so ideal location. Let me know.
  20. I've recently bought a Lanber field 12 gauge over and under however the original choke set is missing. If you have a set you no longer require or know of a link to a set, please let me know. Many thanks. Stock image downloaded from guntrader for reference shown.
  21. Line 'em up at the bar and I'll settle up. Mine's a pint of Hophead.
