  1. Yes the s/h gun market is really poor - these look ridiculously cheap!
  2. I have a few Special SG shells left from a box of 10 from about 40 years ago. There are 9 pellets in each & I remember patterning them on a bit of old ply about 4' square against a big bank from maybe 35yds. When I examined the ply there were only 3 holes and a deer sized animal would have stood a good chance of being completely missed... Personally, I'd never use them on anything further than about 10yds max.
  3. Tentatively looking to sell this after 12 years of ownership as I really could do with making some room in the cabinet for another rifle. It is a stainless steel clone of a Ruger 10/22 made by the Arcadia Machine Tool company and I believe modified by Theoben. I've come across a few of these in various guises but only ever seen this Theoben version, so a bit unusual. It's in excellent condition and can be a bit fussy with subsonics due to the match benz chamber, but it absolutely loves RWS HP subs and cycles them faultlessly despite their relatively low velocity.I'm hoping I'm pricing this fairly sensibly at £425, given the current state of the s/h gun market. That is a fair bit less than I paid for it back in 2012.
  4. Goodness - is that how bad the s/h market is for rifles & shotguns at the minute? I always fancied one of those Marlins - they look like a stonking buy for someone - GLWS
  5. Makes perfect sense to me Minky cos when I posted my first post asking about the chequering, Claydogger hadn't posted any pictures so I didn't know - hence asking the question.
  6. First shotgun I ever fired was the deluxe version of this with checkering and I think a walnut stock & forend about 50yrs ago! If it had have been one of those I would have had it. GLWS it looks a bargain at that price!
  7. Don't suppose this is the deluxe version with the checkered semi pistol grip and forend is it?
  8. I have the same gun and love it. Can I please ask did Hushpower provide both the mod and the choke-threaded adaptor for the mod please? Deffo thinking about getting one of these for mine!
  9. Not being funny but how can that possibly only be worth £195? It looks lovely and I think the world of s/h guns had gone mad...
  10. I think there might be... When I was a callow youth in the mid-seventies, only into airguns, I met an old boy flight shooting pigeons in the wood we used to hang around in. He used to travel by bus with his gun and gear and it was he who probably helped cement my interest in shooting. He was using cartridges I think called Hawk (not Eley ones) in 1 1/8oz #5's and they certainly did the business on the pigeons. Ever since that day that load with fibre wads has been 'special' to me & has been my favourite 12b load. It has proven to be especially effective on crows through my IC choked Remington 1100.
  11. Sorry my bad - it was the full choke one I'd be interested in. The 28b Rafaello Crio only ever comes with IC and 1/2 choke. Do you think it would fit - I may have to call GMK on Monday to ask!
  12. Do you know if these would fit a Benelli Rafaello Crio 28b? If you think they will I'd be interested in the 4 notch - assume that's full choke?
  13. Absolutely no connection to the seller but I have one of these - love mine, it is featherlight and handles like a magic wand! These were probably twice that new so a good price imo - glws.
