wild birds do wild things. I have good days and bad days with everything ive tried, but could be me, could be shooting pressure, could be avalibility of food but i find decoying is getting harder i feel im getting a lower average than i did even 5 or 6 years ago. yet my roost shooting results has improved drastically..
was out sunday for 2 hours, magnet on a stubble field when everything in a good radius hasnt beed cut yet. with a full decoy spread and very well hidden hide under an ash tree nice breeze behind me and sun out but not too hot, day really had potential, i planned to stay out all day and i blanked out. i only stayed out so long becasue i had the football on my phone. not the first time ive completley blanked out in recent years either. ive tried scouting out the area around my permission a few times and nothing stands out or birds in great numbers anywhere.
Got all the gear but my plan and my advice to anyone in my area whould be get a dozen cheap shells, some spare fiberglass tent poles cut to a usable length and one of them clear view net things that kinda only work in the shade and make a very basic very very lightweight setup that can leave in the car and get out little and often. 100% the most enjoyable way to pigeon shoot for me. im borderline done with the big planned days humping mountings of stuff back and forth from the car.

Hi.
You need the instructions unless its the wrong remote. .
Most remotes have a sequence and multi functions.
Give riverside a ring.
Why you'd need a remote on a magnet I've no idea but i rarely use one.
same reason you’d use a remote for anything. Convenience. Why get up and down to switch speeds turn on and off. Not essential but it came with the speed controller and I’d rather it worked than didn’t.

picked up one of these this week, hooked it up and it works fine, however the remote wont work even thoug hte red LED is working so its not a power issue. im guessing the remote fob just need to be paired up to the box. no instructions came with it and i cant find anythign online. anyone got any ideas on how to program these?

yeah its no suprise they pattern tight with a steel cup wad. probably closer to 1/2 and 3/4. youve peaked my intrest im gona have to get some of them 25g of steel 5 sounds very intresting. thanks

i always strip and clean a new gun or a gun thats new to me.
1. get rid of any storage grease if new/ old gunk and crud if 2nd hand never know how its been looked after if at all
2. good chance youll find any faults or damage before finding out the hard way. less of a big deal on airrifles i guess.
3. get an idea of how somthing works mechanically ( might just be me that finds this intresting and preferes to know. overall it just gives me piece of mind knowing my gun is safe, clean, protected and ln full working order.
edit: its 100% worth cleaning the barrel as you may get dieseling. at best it will make it inconsistent and unacurate at worst youll blow a seal and knack the gun.

A bit of a conflict of statements.
nah they excel at what theyre made to be. a no frills work horse. ive had a few 500 series and ive currently got a 535 dipped finish plastic. its a pig but it just "does". 21g on clays or 42g of steel BB sitting in the mud and sea water. wipe off, pull through, put away.
of my cabinet full of guns if i could only choose 1 and it had to last me the rest of my days hands down that gun

Thank you for the interesting comments. As I sad, only one done as a sample / experiment so nothing lost.
Sweet11-87. Do you have a particular product in mind please? There are many out there.

Testors dull its is good but expensive. For the task of just taking a Sheen off decoys I’d just use probably Halfords own. Another option is to rough up the decoys a bit with a wire brush in a drill will also give the paint more bite and a more hard wearing finish. But I’d make sure you shake the paint very very very well before using it. I’ve found that not very well mixed Matt paint often dries glossy
-
i know a fair few lads just use a halfords rattle cans to paint any old duck decoys black. apparently the silloutte stands out beter during a night flight
-
mix the paintfor allot longer than usual. you can also get a spay called dull coat that will put an ultra mat finish on them. protect them aswell

No it's not, 720p is HD not SD. It is sometimes refered to as SHD (standard high definition), but it is still HD. Granted it is the lowest version of HD.
Technically yes but is anything still broadcast or streamed in 480p as standard?. I call 720p SD as it’s weirds calling the lowest common format high definition

Why is it garbage? Looks fine to me! 🤔
Somone beat me to a response above and probably did a better job of explaining than I would. Just down to quality really . Apologies wasn’t looking to offend. But on a decent sized even mid range tv you can really see and hear the difference especially if you’ve flicking back and forth between 720p and 1080p platforms
-
think thats a wood wasp. as far as i know they dont sting. wouldnt like to find out im wrong they are bloody big
-
£10.99 no adverts the £6.99 one is a waste of time, its only 720p and everything looks like garbage. plus you can use 2 accounts so you can let somone else use it for a small donation i guess, must be the same household ofcourse wink wink

What is model name? https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/country-sport-warm-neoprene-waders-500-wetland-camouflage/_/R-p-179133?mc=8604667
These the ones? Always feels difficult if you can't see them in person
yeah theyre the ones. be hard pressed to find a pair of dedicated fowling waders that stands up to them for £140. plus 2 year defect warrenty so if they leak you get your moneys worth or a new pair and if you tear them they come with a good few repair patches. wetsuit glue will sort them being neoprene.
-
i use the waders. 3 seasons on the foreshore at holy island and a season in the rivers for salmon. fantastic cannot fault them and will get another pair in a heartbeat.
designed from the ground up as fowl gear even got anchor points in the heels for mud patterns, super agressive tread, shell holders and phone slot that folds inside the waiders, buckles at the back so not right on the point youd mount the gun.
got the 500 waterproof jacket too just got a size too small. looking back so its to snug and restrictive when layered up.
i preach on here allot about solognac/decathalon. 80% of my gear is now decathalon but allot of it you cant get anymore.

they seem to keep finding boxes, they keep saying
"we have another 10 boxes special offer £60 for 10 full bodies" on facebook
-
Same as above, lefty and just use RH guns for all my shooting. Jus t got used to it now. Aslong as the stock is ambi I just get in with it.
-
hi sco77w im very intrested in this aswell as the enfield mate. any images
-
ill keep my eye on this thread for the new images bud
-
any images? ive got a slot for a .303 and im on the lookout and redcar isnt miles away from me
-
aye they anounced on their facebook that its just not viable anymore last month and when whats left is gone thats it. they will continue with DJ decoys but the enforcer brand is wrapping up.
last i checked they only had goose wind socks left
-
what youve got to take into account even though its perfectly legal to own them as components, if spotted and asked on a renewal why have you got them. they can still be funny and you can end up with the "random" check ups they can do and they can then go over you with a fine tooth comb.
i mean other than as a shotgun slug whats the reason to own them? as an ornement? as a paper weight?.

i imagine most of it will be a mix of ground down and disolved or covered over in a couple of years by sediment mud and rocks in moving waterways. being so small and heavy it will find its way under the bigger lighter stuff where dabblers cant get at it.
on land im not sure probably the same thing just allot slower.
i mean lead is already banned for use over waterways and has been for nearly 25 years becasue evidence was present of harm to wildfowl.
i dont support this proposal becasue it lacks any evidence against humans, meat or enviroment outside of water courses. but the use of lead over water had validity so im onboard with that one. Its unpopular i know but steel isnt ineffective or useless, its just not as effective as lead or the more expensive alternatives,
