Shooting air guns in my backyard, and cartridge guns occasionally.
  1. And that's the whole point of what the controllers want to do. Every time you impose yet-another requirement, whether it be a license, a tax, registration, a cabinet, a waiting period or whatever, you reduce the number of guns and gunners out there: making the eventual total ban / confiscation that much easier, since there are ever-fewer people to oppose it. Every gunner who is chanting "that's a good idea!" is pounding another nail into the coffin of sport shooting. Jim
  2. That's always been my understanding also: that owning a shotgun was the right of a British subject, and that the SCG was designed only to weed out those who were unfit on the basis of such matters as a criminal record. Now, the police are saying that you need to show "good reason" to own one? So, what makes this different from a Section 1 Firearms Certificate? Jim
  3. All great ideas! Thw more you own, the harder it is to become familiar with all of them. Jim
  4. Very true. The American police are commonly replacing their 9mm's with .40's, and I was told by a US Marine who served with a tank crew in Iraq that he his mates regarded their 9mm's as back-up pistols to .45's, if they were able to wangle one of the latter from ordinance. Jim
  5. Sounds as though there would be legality issues: guns disguised as / in other things (umbrellas, belt buckles, etc. ) are federally restricted. I notice also that he described it as a "machine gun" ! Jim
  6. Beautiful dog. The one of her as a pup is just adorable! Jim
  7. You need to do an internet search using the work "umarex". Jim
  8. I don't know...the chicken's about as big as he is! Jim
  9. I have no personal experience with them, but I've heard that others use the Crosman 2240 pistol - I believe they call it the Ratcatcher in the UK - for this purpose. With a stock and scope added, it makes a handy .22 carbine. Or so I understand. Jim
  10. He's a beauty! Congratulations! Jim
  11. Have a blast, mate! Jim
  12. 3 beautiful shotties :o - are they all 12's? - and one beautiful pooch! What more could you ask for? Jim
  13. I wouldn't want to be on EITHER end of this one when it's fired! Jim
