Nicky T
I've recently taken the stock off my 682 Gold E to send it away to have an adjustable comb system installed. Got it back today and proceeded to re-fit the stock onto the action/receiver with no major dramas only to notice that it fits ever so slightly better on the left side compared to the right hand side. We're talking no more than a millimeter difference between the two sides. Is this normal? If so I suspect that I didn't notice any difference before I removed the stock. If not, what needs to be done to rectify it and will it damage the stock if I use it as it currently is? MC
Nicky, Does the stock fit well around the top and bottom of the action? If it does then the difference has always been there. If there is a gap between the metal and the wood then it is not right. It is possible that by cutting the wood to fit the adjustable come it has moved slightly. If the gap is there then I would slacken the bolt off and get someone to put a bit of pressure either side of the stock as you tighten the bolt. beretta
one thing i have found with berettas over the years and servicing and repairing my own is that the stock to action fit is a very good fit, i would not have thought there is much slack to move it any amount. so long as the wood is up against the action all around with NO gaps, thats it. tighten it up. sometimes there is a little missmatch with the thickness on opposite sides of the gun but they are not totally handmade.
