Today i took my newish gun my 3 week old bsa lightening because i wanted a light pcp and wanted a 22 as the bsa was 177 and seemed to go stright through everything i hit even at 40 yards? i like spingers but not to keen on the recoil anyway i took it in to partex on a bsa ultra no probs there but when my bsa lightening was tested it came back fac i was shock as ive no licence and should't of been sold the gun then i thought about if i would of been cought with the fac air rifle i would of been screwed  should i go to the old shop and tell them what they sold me or just not bother with the shop??

old shop will probably just say it was not that way when you bought it,

power has gone up since then.

you could try,,but where will it get you.

unfortunately theres very few people willing to admit to mistakes

and even less willing to rectify those mistakes,,

saying that,, there are still some very genuine people about,,

i hope i'm one,, and really love it when i meet others

but yes ,,tell the shop,,they might give better checks the next time they sell a gun

cheers al

i rang the shop i bought it from all i got asked is have i added a new spring, which i havnt and would'nt know how to and didnt see the need as it was a new gun But saying they are going to test the guns they have in (which isnt many) but also told me that i should test my air guns often by myself im responsible <<may be spelt wrong, but i know this is true to a point but a new gun from the shop which is ment to be 11.fbl should be but atleast they know now :good:

which is what you did and it came back as FAC. They sold you an FAC rated gun without a licence so i would point that fact out to them and mention speaking with the local FEO in the same sentence - if that doesn't focus their thoughts ring the FEO for a chat

sorry to sound dumb but what does FEO stand far.

im lucky that our pellet trap as a big 3ft square and a good 4mill thick steal box in our garden as we plink in the back garden sometimes i wouldnt of even been doing that would i of known but im glad i took it in to a gun shop as it was going to be sold to my brother-in-laws brother for his 15year old son to use when out with us on. the shop did say they will test there guns that fine by me but it could of just been a factory error as it was new
