Lew Potter has a .280 British which he made up off the plans he got while working at the Royal College at Shrivenham. If you wikipedia it, it sounds to be the business. Being something of an (English) patriot, it appeals to me. Nothing outrageous or death ray-ish about it, just d@mned effective.

Well i'm stuck with a 22/250 for the time being, is there any way that this could be modified for heavier caliber heads? would just like something thats a bit more versatile for larger deer.

to shoot the roe and above you would have to get it rebarreled in something 243 or bigger.

inless you shoot in scotland then you can shoot roe with the 22 centrefires.

if you want to shoot heavier bullets in 22/250 then get i 1 in 8 twist or 1 in 9 twist barrel you could then shoot say'' 75 grain vmax bullets.

but if you where going to spend money on that you mite as well get it changed to 243 ? as your be legal for all deer

can you get 75gr 224 heads?

I was just thinking, as the 22/250 was originally a wildcat, could it be converted back to .250 cal? Purely hypothetical..
