bionicle
hi out there can any one tell me the best gun light to buy for some bunny hunting now the nights have gone thanks It’s going to depend on your budget. The lightforce 170 seems to be the top one at the moment or you could go for a Logun lamp or even a Deban Tracer You’ll find plenty for sale on the bay site... peek-at
If you are looking for a decent light to attach to your scope and dont want to spend a fotune have a look at the ' X-VERMINATOR' it's powered by cr123 batteries which last ages and gives a quite a wide beam of light using a xenon bulb which illuminates to about 50m costs around £30 (look on ebay or google it) happy hunting
mick miller
To be honest the set-up listed in another post (lamping equipment) is cheaper to buy and brighter than the X-Verminator, it'll do you proud for any bunny bashing you wish to do. Colster
Agree with Mick, look on dealextreme. You'll find some great torches on there for very little money
Beardo
i'd got with either a Tracer of some variety or possibly one of the surefire/ultrafire types of LED torch. Lightforces whilst fantastic are waaaay too much for air rifle shooting
townsend819
Deben tracer, with a tactical battery, with comes with a stock pouch, does it for me, as I can put it down to do other jobs, i.e. skinning, hocking etc. Really 'light' too pun intended... huntercarbine
if you want a gun mounted light the answer is simple. rather than being ripped off buying a lamping kit such as ledray etc; go to dealextreme and order an led torch, pressure switch, mounts, batteries and charger. send mickmiller a private messege and he'l advise you on what to order. then order from deben a ledray filter £5.95 which fits over the end of your light. everything for around £40 and much brighter than the stuff for under £100 in gunshops. deaddog
hi out there i have got the torch that mick said from dx its great the swicth did not work but the torch is very good thanks mick
mick miller
The switches can sometimes need tweaking, check to make sure the spring in the cap isn't touching the metal washer at the base. If it does, make the hole a little bit bigger. If that doesn't work send it back and raise a ticket immediately. I have ordered 4 switches from DX, and one was faulty; they are cheap as chips though so I guess you can always order another. I've ordered 3 different Romisen torches and they all work fine too. I know Smiiithy's had a issue with his sadly.
KANO
I use a Deben Mini Pro with a red filter. Spent the extra on brightness control switch. I have spent a lot of time and money on various torches and mounts over the last couple of years trying to do it on the cheap. The closest I got to cheap was a torch from Tesco express £12 and a mount from Halfords Bike section, add an orange filter paper from a toffee wrap (quality street) and bobs your uncle fanny's a rude word. I used that for a couple of months but Waaaayyyy too heavy walking around. I figured what the hell the experts have already been there and done that, why keep making the same mistakes. So with a lot of research in the forums I invested in the Mini Pro. (Should have done it a looong time ago) Its just my opinion gentlemen.
