CharlieT
You need a form and £26 unless you are quick and do a 1 for 1 then it's free. Good luck. Edited October 21, 2009 by CharlieT
verminer
I think, if you are going from Rimfire to Centrefire then it will not be a one for one variation as you are stepping up a calibre, so you will have to pay £26.00. and yes you will have to fill out paperwork. if i was you i would give your Feo a ring and he will explain it all to you. it will save you time in the long run, as there is nothing worse than filling out all the ppwork and getting it returned with an error. moses
A variation is much like your origional application but, you won't need references. You need to complete all the relevant sections of the application forms and you will need permission letters for that calibre and the quarry you wish to shoot. If the land you have permission for in not passed for that calibre (i/e deemed safe by the police)it will need to be inspected. Don't forget to put in a covering letter clearly stating exactly what you are asking for like expanding missiles, one for one variation (no fee) etc.. If you have any doubts and you're a BASC member call their firearms dept and they will go through the whole thing with you over the phone. I have changed from rimfire to centrefire without a fee, a rifle is a rifle you are only paying if you are adding an additional firearm. Forgot to mention that based on your experience you may require a mentor for the deer authorisation or you may be asked to get some experience like do your DSC1 for example. To be honest if you wish to shoot deer and you haven't done DSC then I would urge you to do so, If you have no one to mentor you then you need to have some understanding of deer management and carcass preparation. Good luck moses
CharlieT
Darren My initial post is correct. A 1 for 1 is free if done within a few days of selling your rifle. Why people have to post ******** is beyond me. Down load the application form now, it is self explanatory, and get it in the post asap...............job done. Good luck moses I just had the same going from FAC air to .223, but as also stated there is a time limit on the 1 4 1 application. usually your police forces website, if not have a look on the Herts site as its definitely on there Your force is having a problem with it's web site, so use the BASC form below. http://www.basc.org.uk/en/utilities/docume...B6A83373E015186
