Staffs-Shooter
Shot 132 pigeons, 1 jackdaw & 1 crow over barley stubble today. Used 14 shells, 2 flappers & 1 floater. Birds decoyed well however were intent on going on the next fields (which we dont have permission on :o ) Out again in the morning - fingers crossed! Staffs-Shooter
Had a slow day yesterday. Set up on a nearby field about 8.30. Some pigeons about but no major flight line had developed. Started shooting steady about 10 when two other guns set up on neighbouring fields. By 1 the birds were coming stronger but rain set in & the birds just disappeared! Decided to pack up - shot 33 pigeons, 1 crow & a magpie. Im hoping for a few dry days as we have loads of ground with swathed barley, which has loads of grain under, and acres of rape & wheat which will provide some good sport when harvested.
