kermitpwee
Hi folks. My springer seems to be shivering quite a lot. When i touch his body i can feel him shaking. Its not all the time, i thought he was cold where his kennel was so i moved him to a warmer spot. I mentioned in another thread that the dog is new to me, I have him 10 days now. Is it that he is nervous when i touch him or cold? I had him out rough shooting today and he worked well, at one point I gave out to him as he wouldnt take my direction but the reason he didnt take it was he was just about to flush a bird. I know i shouldnt have given out to him regardless. I'm just wondering is the shivering from cold or have i scared him? If anyone has any opinions can they please voice them. Thanks, Peter Edited November 8, 2009 by kermitpwee
henry d
Nervousness and anticipation also cause it.
kermitpwee
Nervousness and anticipation also cause it. The anticipation part might explain some of the shivering before we go shooting. Thanks.
henry d
My wee bitch will sit in the hide all day and shiver like a jelly, summer & winter. Come the beating line she will work like a Trojan and only shivers when waiting. ATB -
