Colster
I put in for my FAC 3 weeks ago, not heard anything yet but noticed when checking the sorry state of my bank account (gonna need to sell off some of my scope collection to pay for the rifle, may even have to let my extremely rare Vistascope 3-9x40 go) they hadn't banked the £60 (co-terminous) cheque I gave them on the 21st Oct. I seem to remember reading that the cheques were usually banked straight away (then refunded if the application was declined), is this right or does it vary from force to force, mine's Norfolk Constabulary who currently quote about 8 weeks for an application start to finish. Marley29
Hi mate. My cheque was cashed in about 7 days with Essex police. Might be worth giving them a ring.
Dunkield
It's the first thing that happens when your application enters the system. As already suggested, give them a quick call.

Colster
Woot Woot, just had phone call from Firearms Office with a "small snaggette" (her words), they weren't happy to grant my application for both .177 and .22 Air so said that was fine and I would prefer .22 anyway (that's if I buy a FAC Air anyway). She then said right that's fine, I'll get this finished off and it should go off to you in the post tonight. Right who's got a CZ Silhouette in .22LR they want to sell?
