Highlander
I use wood shavings as a base layer then fill up with straw. Works for me.

JA3llis
Barley straw seems quite popular with a the horsey people. If its good enough for them Im sure its fine for the dogs
shawi72uk
Has anyone had any skin problems with straw (with there dog lol) ? The thing is the kennel i have has a removable floor which has a 2" caverty under it which the dog cant get too im thinking of putting a heat matt under it just to take the edge of the cold the next few months dont forget he is only 12 weeks old and he wont be getting this treatment next winter Edited November 26, 2009 by shawi72uk

lister1
i use a plastic bed with a sponge bed inside then a couple of fleecey blankets. my pup is only 12weeks and she loves being in her kennel and run. although we bring her in at night at the moment.
