S200

Hi I have just "upgraded" mine with a mag, it certainly helps, no fiddling around with the pellet in the trough, I am in the middle of testing which Pells work best in them (Air Arms Field 5.51 so far). I have noticed that the rubber ring that holds the pell in place is beginning to wear after around 100 Pells though. With the AA silencer it is VERY quite allowing many shots at the same target without it running off. Or was that rat deaf? Seriously Very quite

I have noticed that the rubber ring that holds the pell in place is beginning to wear after around 100 Pells though.

Dont know if this will help, but when I spoke to Logun about maintenance of my S16, they suggested using the Logun gun grease on the rubber O ring that holds the pellets in place. This both helps lubricate the pellet when moving through the magazine and also helps lubricate the Breach O ring.

It is a specialist grease that Logun use to help protect the O rings. Off the top of my head I cant remember the specific type but you have to avoid using certain grease and lubricants. So for the sake of £4 I popped to my local smith and got some.

Am I correct in say ing it is unregulated?

Is the floating barrel a problem, in so much that you must be REALLY carefulnot to knock it?

What about the rumour that upon filling to the stated 190bar the first few shots come out at about 8lb/ft and sbuild upto the 12lb/ft?

Just curious!

Excellent gun. Don't worry over the floating barrel. Mk2 version isn't floating anyway - only the mk1. Quiet as any other gun. Magasine works well in .22 though I've heard reports that some .177 users have had problems. As with any unregged gun you need to do a full chrono run to find it's sweet spot.

if it is the floating barrel that measn as 1 of 5 says its the MK1 and probably slightly better than the latter MK2 as there are a few more metal bits on it (end cap, bolt and possibly the trigger), i think it would be hard to find a better rifle for similar money, with the silnecer they are about as quiet as you could possibly want. and an even bigger bonus from the looks of them they have the same barrel as fitted to the EV2! so accuracy shouldnt be a problem.

The only down side about them is the shots per charge (60 in .22 and 40 in .177)but for a oprice of around £40 you can get spare cylkinders if needed.

bloody dfecent rifles with the mag fitted, long as the price isnt too high, would say around £300 for complete set up (rifle scope mounts mag)

Is that some sort of silicone grease? my pells are napier'ed already

Pellet lube helps to make the oring last longer too. If the pellet is LUBED it slides through easier and dont cause friction wearing away the oring.

The Orings are cheap enough to buy though just don't pay the manafacturers prices go to a online shop dealing in seals etc and you can get em real cheap.

Im Sure the old bill are not going to worry about .2 of a ftlb, they do have worse things do worry about.... Dear oh dear!

I have the s200 also, and must say for the money its a cracking rifle!!!

I have it in .177 and have found that yes, the mag rubbers do wear out after a while, the remedy to this is to simply push the pellet all the way in so that the tip is flush with the front of the cylinder magazine. This will stop them from falling out!

I have found though, that if you are not careful you can damage the skirt of the pellet if you dont cycle the bolt carefully. I use prometheus dynamics to remedy this as they are tin pellets and do not distort like lead.. I have also found them to be the most accurate in this gun also. To tell tell the truth i have not yet found a pellet that shoots bad in this little gun...

easily as good as a high end pcp as it can shoot just as straight!!

If the Police are going to take the time to check your rifle and find anywhere over the limit .2 or not, your in for a rough ride. All that time and trouble, thy're gonna want want some sort of pay back.

Its certainly not worth tempting fate, for the sake of tuning it to within the LEGAL LIMIT.

it is within the legal limit, juts not with bisley mags... Don't use them!!

Trust me mate they have better things to worry about, more than if "joe blogg's" air rifle is .2 of a ftlb over the limit with a heavy pellet. I shoot with ex firearms officers and i can asure you they wont worry about .2ftlb with a heavier pellet. If the guns under 12 you are ok. As long as it does'nt creep over 13 say with a heavier pellet i wouldn't worry.

They're arnt that petty.. Unless your local flo are complete tossers!

And your last line says it all!

Can you speak for every copper about? - obviously not. If you want to run the risk that's your business but to encourage someone-else to do so is not appropriate in my book.

Plod can use any pellet they choose to test with as there is NO national standard test.

.2 ft/lb gives you nothing but worry if pulled whereas the £5 buys some peace of mind.

just saying personally, i wouldnt go to the expense of having the gun de-tuned .2 of a ftlb. Easiest way is just to give em a ring and say "look my gun is 11.somethin but with mags, creeps over by .2ftlb does this bother you?"

Predicted repsonse would be "Just use pellets of a lighter grain"

I know what the law states, but as with every law there is a slight tolerance, im sure they will be ok with .2ftlb

As long as you explain that the gun is under 12 with all other pellets then it is a legal gun in the eyes of the law.

similar to speed limit, limit is 70mph but they'll let ya get away with 77mph

They arnt gonna lock you up for .2ftlb

I can see your point Jon-boy BUT remember the "antis" are out to get us. This is not paranoia this is the truth. It goes above common sense, you know that .2lb/f is nothing the same as I know. However why give them an excuse. I don't want to do time or get a criminal record which means that I would have to stop doing what I love. Therefore I will allways try to stick to the letter of the law.
