i have had the knife for 10years now it was given to me by a plumber who came across it in a roof space in an old house it was wrapped in old news paper but he didn't look at the date so i've no idea how to age the knife, makers name is on the crossguard is 'william rodgers sheffield england' it didn't come out on the photo's though sorry! blade is 175mm diamond section double edged (dagger) blade, comes with leather sheath

i am looking for £60 plus postage.

Without seeing any markings in the flesh, from the pics:-

Looks like a Post War 1940s MK3. probably after 1942/3 as the blade is machine ground (the hand ground had a small wedge on the bottom by the hand guard)

The sheath still retains one set of Sew on Tabs (Upper) the lower ones were only about 10mm below, it also still has the elastic grip retaining loop at the top.

A good price.. would be about double that from a dealer.

wow it sounds like it could be a murder weapon the way it was found! thanks for the pm mate but this isnt my sort of thing the walking stick would of been amazing for me but alas it wasnt to be! good luck with this by the sound of it its a bargain for someone (or a possible cold case murder conviction! :good: )

Hello Gaz,

I am interested in the knife. I want to give it to my dad who was in the army as an commando himself. He should be familiar with the knife i think. I can transfer you the money and give you my details. Only slight problem is that i live in the Netherlands. I come over to Lincolnshire and around Oxford at the end of January / beginning of February maybe we can arrange something then? If you give me youre emailadress we can discuss?

with kind regards,

Ruud
