kyska
Hi All, Is there a particular way to screw studs into a laminate stock or is it the same as a timber stock? Just pilot hold a little smaller and go for it? Kyska
Dunkield
That is all I did, I didn't treat it any different to tree wood.
Paddy Galore!
when i did mine i slightly countersunk the holes just in case it splintered. i'm not sure if the stocks are made from scratch [ layers of veneer pressed together] or the ply is bought in, but sometimes there are voids caused by dead knots in the veneers, so maybe take fisters advice and glue the studs in just in case.. njc110381
I'd be careful not to drill the hole too small, it's easy to split laminate.
