the arable cleanser!
hi y'all, I've got an 03 isuzu trooper, awsome machine, it does everything i want it to on and off road. Only drawback is it's a bit heavy on the juice. Takes about 90 quid to fill it and gets about 500 miles to the tank. But i still wouldn't change it!! well within your budget. joeainscow
"If it's a legal requirement though then all cars must have it. " Mot's and EU laws are two seperate things Mot is only the roadworthyness of a vehicle on the days it tested. EU directives for what cars should and should't have is a completly different thing. Haggis. In an MOT i was told it's one of the things they look for. EG a chip on your windscreen which has gone milky around it in colour results in a fail as does an ABS light which won't go off. I'm willing to be proven wrong. All i know is that somehow it definitely invalidates your insurance if found to be tampered with. Are there any mechanics or insurance brokers on here? al4x
yup you're wrong, obviously ABS warning lights etc are a fail but they don't check its still beeping if you don't wear your belt
haggis
I'm a certified autmotive engineer, mot tester and ATA diagnostic technician. Yes abs light on would fail, but not seatbelt warning or airbag warning they dont come into the mot but are all items required by EU law. I'm not sure about tampering with things invalidating your insurance( might be hard to prove either way), but they'd definatly try and wriggle out of paying the full amount the vehicle is worth.
