Lampwick
I have a small dent in the stock of my new shotgun! X mate did it on its second trip out. I have been told that is possible to get it out with a damp cloth and an iron! Has anyone any experience of this or am I having it pulled? Cheers Shippy
Paul223
Depends on the finish of the stock, but yes a damp cloth (or brown paper) and a steam iron will work a treat
Paddy Galore!
yep this works, used to do this all the time in the joinery shop, if it's varnished then it usually needs a few pin pricks in the dent so the steam can be absorbed, which puffs up the wood. Lampwick
Thanks, confused by "depends on the finish of the stock" mind? Its a new beretta and im not quite sure what I would call the finish, its a sort of matt finish.

stumacher
it works but it might lift the stain from the wood.
Lampwick
I may live with it for a bit longer now.
