madmackie
can anyone tell me if the anti tamper on an s410 177 can be removed for minor adjustments i dont want my rifle to go over as im a cert holder just want to be able to fine tune to the pellets im using at any particular time. i realise this my invalidate my warrenty but the rifle is now 18 months old does it cause any damage removing or does it need modifying thanks in advance pete ps if this post is breaking any rules please accept my appologies
jackinbox99
It can be drilled out. Im sure i saw a video on "the tube" showing how to do it. The guy clamped it into a vice and used a drill. Its not something I would personally want to try as 1 slip and you can make a nice mess of the gun. Personally I would just try various pellets until you find one which works well. Then, get the gun chrono`d. Chances are it will be pushing out a decent power anyway. If it is pushing out below 11lb/ft then just take it to the local gun shop and let them adjust it for you. Once you find a pellet which works well and get the power set, you`ll never normally need to re-adjust it much. I know I certainly dont. I just re-chrono my s410 every once in a while to check its still pumping out the right power.
tweedledee
why would you need a drill? anti tamper screw driver sets are readily available.can`t believe the stupidity of drilling it out
Devonhunter
why would you need a drill? anti tamper screw driver sets are readily available.can`t believe the stupidity of drilling it out Because if its the newer model which it is if 18 months old the anti tamper is rounded so a security torx is no good ! deejay
The fact here is ,If you tamper with the settings to suit your pellets ,this does and will also affect the pellets that the authorities use . Bearing in mind that they will not use your pellets to test the guns power levels , So you really need to think about this one . My gun is the same model its is 10.7 ft/lbs for the simple reason that if its taken away and tested then this will pass all tests with any pellet weight ,and even at this (what seems to be a low level) I am still capeable of popping the rabbits off at 50/60 yards . But what pellets do you use ? Daz

I don't take shots knowingly over 35 yds but have had a few that I miscalculated at 40 and a bit yds and they were clinically despatched with a head shot at that distance and under 11 ft lbs. It has been said before, but accuracy and not neccesarily power is the key.
