PLAGUE Posted January 24, 2010 Report Share Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) I saved this girl from being putdown , but unfortunatly she is horrible with other animals (just wants to kill them) - i'm not realy a pet person BUT i could not see her put to death. She is fantastic in the house and with other people just not with other animals. Maybe some one who has more experience with dogs could train her properly - the two vets i have taken her to both think she's about 2 and a bit years old - both say she has had pups - she's in good health (licks her paw's - not so much now as when i first got her) she is house trained - she's great on the lead (untill you come across another animal - it's as if she's skitzo). She is a lovely dog and if i had i big enclosed back garden i would keep her. Please if anyone is willing to give her a good home PM me with your landline number and i'll phone you. I don't have transport at the moment so you would have to come and get her - but i would also jump on the train to just about anywhere in the UK (at my expense) to see her go to the right person. roughshooter_135 Posted January 24, 2010 Report Share Posted January 24, 2010 hi mate unfortunatley thats can be the nature of patterdales good for what they are bred for but can go nuts with owt else,i have same problem with my bitch loves kids and people in general but anything else with 4 legs not a matter of size head goes into auto drive,lost her mother to the biggest battle on earth just looked like a crocodile had been put in with them can be retrained but still has the urge to nail owt, good luck keep her brilliant pets but if you take out muzzle her, little dogs with the heart of a lion. regards roughshooter. Don t think im being rude but it is nt the nature of the patterdale. i have a number of them and work them regularly doing terrier work for keepers foot packs farmers etc. they are a good working terrier that has plenty of courage but this should not be aimed at other dogs. mine travel together and are 100 % with livestock .a working home might get her steadier . the breed is bred to work she might just be wound up or bored.again don t mean to be rude just a lot of people see the black uns as head bangers , which they are definately not. rickyspringer Posted January 26, 2010 Report Share Posted January 26, 2010 totally agree with Jake, these dogs should be well rounded and mix with other dogs well, she's a great looker isn't she and I wish you look in finding her a good home, is it not possible for you to keep her, there are ways of slowing down the dog aggression please PM me as I would love to be of some help, you seem happy with her in the house and she looks extremely content so well done.
