John_R
Why worry? They are useless in terms of helping anyone learn to shoot, and a fire hazard in the field.
yanibaby
What I understand is that they're illegal to manufacture in the UK, due to the hazards involved in making them - no one will insure you, and the HSE do not allow it... but as far as I know you can buy/use them if you manage to get hold of them... Pretty hard to find though, but EVERYONE I've ever spoken to about them says they're pointless anyway.
hookbones
the tracer element is a lil slower than the shot due to size so for moving targets a pointless endeavor ..most grounds dont allow them but some dont care.. iv used them when the smith i worked for got twitchy and stopped selling them so i got all the old stock... look great when u do hit a clay with the sparkly bit tho
Shuck.
So there no good for pattern studying then, in safe conditions though (no dry fuel about) they wouldnt become a fire hazard, might be good fun to shoot some stationary targets with them The shot probably leaves bad waste products on a field but theyd be ok on a bit of old land wouldnt they? John_R
Pattern studying is usually done on a pattern plate. Tracers will not show anything to do with pattern. In any case, the burning lump will travel differently to the rest of the shot.
