dave dog Posted January 30, 2010 Report Share Posted January 30, 2010 What do you think is the shortest barrel length i can get away with o a 308win. My 22.250 runing about 20inch tube ok. Its spoilt a few foxes days. So just wondering weather any you out think i could get away with a simalar length tube. As 308win is running alot slower. Any ideas please/ Dave. Provided your not shooting much beyond the 600 yard mark, then nearly all scopes should still have enough to adjust for the extra windage/drop. Dekers Posted January 31, 2010 Report Share Posted January 31, 2010 That was the first thing I did when I got my new 700SPS in .308, chop down the flagpole of a barrel to around the 20inch mark. It's fine for what I want to do out in the field!! :blink: Yes, you will probably loose a few FPS but it still does the job for me, if and when I can be bothered to use it, my .243 is usually more than capable!!
