HDAV
I have wondered about this, most guns, Shotguns particluraly are made in Japan, mainland europe (italy, Spain, or the states... Now we live in the EU, common market whatever it is these days and there has to be abenefit somewhere down the line. Is an italian made gun cheaper in Italy? Can one buy a gun in europe and have sent to a UK RFD? I have read about importing from the US and from germnay into ireland but anyone done it to the UK, Doesn't make sense at the moment with the £ to € rate... but if we get back to 1.8€ to the £ it would be nice. I am thinking mor eof secondhand guns than new as there is a lot more potential choice. Or i just need more ££££ Edited February 3, 2010 by HDAV
seeker
The EU 21 is a Form under EU regs regs for the movement of Weapons between member states and would be linked to your UK Licence.. Have a look at the Home Office Guidance to the Police for some info and there is a bit on Customs and Excise and whatt used to be the DTI sites. The system works - I had a rifle from Germany. Cost will vary but you pay VAT at the rate in the country of purchase and factor in 'collect or courier.... but as someone wrote on another thread 'he got what the UK importers did not want to be bothered with. Just do your homework and paperwork
Vince Green
Before they tightened up on the laws over there you could buy .22 rifles in France without a licence and they were cheaper but they only seemed to sell the more rubbishy end of the range.
