lordofthewings
Hoping to look at a couple of Vatara,s over the weekend, one in on a T reg and the other is an R, they are both on 92K, and both are around the £1600 mark, and both are in dealers yards with service history. Are they over priced for the years? I have no experiance of 4x4,s. I really want something to get me a little nearer to where I want to decoy as I,m getting on a bit and now find it difficult to carry my gear any distance. I will not be doing much over 6K a year, I would value your opinions. LOTW

Mine was the 1.6 petrol swb. Usually very reliable although the water pumps can be prone to failure. Also look out for rust on the wheel arches and sills. Aside from this i thought mine was excellent offroad even with the standard goodyear wrangler tyres it came fitted with . One of the first things i did with mine was to take the rear seats out as there is no room in the swb with them in! All in all a good little shooting waggon
gixer1
Loved mine dearly, to the point I am thinking about getting another!, just a shame they aren't as comfy, and can't pull as much as my disco...
Red 9R
My LWB is great for what I use it for (mobile shed), it has never got stuck around the shoot, has pulled a few so called better off roader out and has been toptally abused but keeps going, I do run it on off road tires as it spend over half its time on fields and tracks. only real problem I have had is the sills have rotted out behind the plastic capping and you can not get replacements, I am going to cut them out and put 2x2 box section in, need to do the head gasket at some point as well. Did have problems with the after matket alarm but an hour with the dash out and a soldering iron sorted that.. Had it 3 years on an M plate and paid £800, now got 120k on the clock Cheers Red
