JonD
Hi All, I was out on the clays this morning and the gun had been working fine. I got to a stand called for the bird pulled the trigger and the gun didn't fire, followed the misfire procedure then opened the gun. The cartridge primer was marked with a small dent but nowhere near what they normally look like. I put it back in the gun and it fired fine the second time. My question is do I have a problem with the gun or is it one of those things? The firing pins move freely and I don't let and cleaner etc run into the action. The gun is always stored muzzles down The gun is about 8 months old and I would reckon I have put about 5k cartridges through it, never had a problem with it before and shot another 60 cartridges fine today without issue. The cartridge was a Hull Comp x 28g 7.5 plaswad if it's of relevance which i use all the time. Cheers, Jon.
BlaserF3
Probably just a hard primer, you do get them now and again.
Whitebridges
Probably just a hard primer, you do get them now and again. sometimes you get a batch with hard primers. I've had this with a slab of RC's before.
Rizzini
Hia mate. I had this problem with an Eley cart in my Semi-Auto. I took it to the gun shop and he told me that its most likely to be a hard primer. So i went home, grabbed the gun and went lamping for a bit with my mate. Put a Lyalvale Express Special Pigeon in it, first rabbit aimed and pulled the trigger and BANG. So its most likely to be a hard primer, also he said that some brand new semi's have even had problems knocking some primers they've been so hard, he also tole me its most common in Eley carts. So your in the clear matey.
JonD
Thanks all It's the first misfire i have had so was just a concern. Definitely a hard primer looks like the cause, it's not missed a beat since Jon.
