blackthorn
magman the 300 and the 400 don't come with safety catches i have owned both these rifles with no problems if your not taking a shot just deco-ck it . have you shot ENE thing with this fine rifle yet
Sergeant
exactly, if you dont intend to shoot then there sould be no reason to carry it cocked. I have used rifle with a vertually useless safety, it is a simple matter not to load or if expecting to shoot load the round but leave the bolt handle up and unlocked, it cna then be swiped down as quick as taking a saftey off. roblade
magman the 300 and the 400 don't come with safety catches i have owned both these rifles with no problems not true the new versions now come with a simple push button safety on the trigger. but the best safty is to always carry the rifle uncocked and only cock it when your pretty sure your going to be taking a shot in the next few moments. its pretty easy to cock these rifles silently by pulling the trigger and holdiing it back while you pull the bolt fully back, then release the trigger and push the bolt forward, rifle is now loaded silently (helps if you have pre loaded pellet and decocked it first) ROB
