Zapp
Just an idea, but Nicks clay meet has inspired me... I live pretty cose to sporting targets in Bedfordshire, and thought it might be a bit of fun to organise an Xmas 100 bird skeet/sporting shoot off there for members near enough to make it. I would think that a group of about 10 wold be manegable, but have no ideas about costings etc at the mo (shouldnt be too expensive if we provide our own carts etc). This wold probably be on a saturday during the first 2 weekends before xmas. Let me know what you think. Pete

dunganick
can i recomend the venue is left undecided, as i think the main problem with the thing im organising is that we are limited to people that can travel to there. it would be better to find out who is intrested, and try and find a ground which best suits the requirements of the majority, you will find that there are a good few members willing to travel a good distance to go. just worth considering, unless you have a special arangement with a certain clay ground. one ground well worth considering would be bisley. me LB and rabbit basher (i think thats his username) went there durring the summer, boiling day, lots of miles invlove, poor ben LB's dog must have hated it, by my god was the shooting ever worth it, best shooting ground easily ive ever shot on, (ihave been going to bisley for years, but for rifle shooting not sporting clays) heres an idea which has just occured, you can hire ranges down there, so for those long gun shooters out there, we could hire a few ranges (£40 for a half day on 100 yrds) and then in the afternoon we could move onto the clay layout. you do have to book the clays and range in advance, so best anything we might organise is thought up now. just some idea's what do you chaps think? sorry to gate crash your topic pete
Zapp
No problem Nick, I'm always open to suggestions. The reason I picked ST is because it is where I normally shoot and they have a goodvariety of targets. If the consensus is that somewhere else would be preferable, I have no problems with that. tenbears10
Did we get anywhere on this Pete? If there aren't loads of people we could just have an informal meet and a quick 50 or 75. There are quite a few northamponshire members now, is it the Saturday in the season that put people off? Sporting Targets is open Sunday morning as well.
