Conygree
After buying an L200 found the nearside airbag unit was missing. Does it need the indicator to work to pass an MOT? I found new units are very expensive so may fit a used unit. I'm sure it wasn't fired by inpact as the front is undamaged and matches its age for 03 reg. Possible the unit was removed when the truck was broken into 2 owners back. Any advice most welcome
mickmep
as far as i am aware air bags are currently not part of mot.

pyr8
as you say new ones are very expensive and there is a market for second hand ones.the scallys now this and there are a lot of cars being broken into for this reason. Conygree
I therefore assume mine was nicked a few owners back, I missed checking the lights as I hadn't had that problem before. But it's passed the MoT - no comments, but I will get it sorted out soon (although the dog does more miles in the front seat than my wife)
al4x
depending whether it can be deactivated there is a faint chance someone removed it so they could put a childs seat in the front. Personally I'd leave it as its the passenger side they don't do much in the event of an accident. Drivers side is different as it stops you hitting the steering wheel
Conygree
thanks for the tip I brought the L200 say six months ago, bit rough bit cheapish = a bit cautious about it. But after some work it's running well so I will keep it, when it warms up a bit I will do some more work on it. Plus I have a winch to fit on the back for woodland work = next winter fuel etc, I was given a set of 31x10.5 -15" M/T's on alloys. I cleaned out the intercooler with Gunk & boiling water, really moved some gunge, now running better. So hopefully it will do me well.
