They are nice motors but it seems that most of them will crack their head eventually. I thought mine was immune till a few weeks ago. :good:

I thought that they were basically the same as the shogun, but it appears to me that shoguns don't suffer this problem any where near as much. Maybe somebody could shed some light on it.

Haven't learnt though I just bought an L200 <_< , albeit a much younger one with DiD engine.

As far as i'm aware the pajero is just the name used outside the u.k. for the shogun-both cars are identical.I've got a 01 reg 3.5 v6 GDI auto in vgc and fully serviced-absolute pile of you know what.It drinks like a scotsman and every time i fix one fault another one rears its ugly head. These piles of clap sell on reputation and i reckon that 95% of them never see the dirt-mine is only an off-roader cos it spends so much time off road and in the bloody garage.Air con pump went last week-£950 for just the pump but it doesnt end there-despite having the chasis number Mitsy dont know to within 4 different units which one is fitted to my car.Spark plug change?-thats £280 please sir!.Nice set of alloys sir?-dont let them get a whiff of salt sir or they will be forked. <_<

I got a 3.5 24v petrol  LWB Shogun - bit thirsty, rattles, squeaks and smokes a bit but goes on & on - does alright off road loads of toys - compare their adjustable suspension with that of Range Rovers air suspension and hope it don't break or the easy way out is to convert to standard struts - Fajer in Law has a Pajero 3.0 Exceed and that too just keeps going - can't fault them really - every car has it's problems the Pajero/Shogun is no different
