Browning
I'm putting Federal Premiums, 70gr Nos Bal Tip Factory loads through my .243 with superb results, both on paper and foxes. Excellent brass for reloading too.
henry d
What rifling twist is in your rifle? Sometimes there has been problems with bullets not stabilising as they are too light and not suited to that rate of twist.

Sorry henry, but light bullets don’t de-stabilise in fast twists, only heavy bullets in slow twists. B) G.M.
deadeye ive
I use the .223 55 grn in this brand and i'm well impressed but at a £1 a bullet it should be. B) 40 grn 3700 FPS so imagine it should be pretty flat shooting eg 200 yd Zero will be 1" high at 100yds .I,m not sure what effect these lighter higher velocity RDS will have on the life of the rifling on your barrel though As as been said already ,save the brass Ive
Frank
Thanks Ive. That does worry me a bit, about barrel life. Reloading is coming in over here in Febuary, so i will save the brass. B)
Dunkield
Just got a 100 of this ammo in .223. Have not had time to try it out yet, any experiences on using this ammo? Its ment to be deadly accurate. Pic below. Thanks. Blimey Frank have you won the Euro Lottery B) I am getting 100 6.5x55 Federal Classics from the armoury at Bisley they can do them for £81, which is cheaper then anywhere else I can find. I always fancied the Premiums but they are just a bit too pricey for me, I have heard only good things about them, the premiums are very consistant and unless I am imagining it have got better since they changed to packaging. Incidently I will be trying the CZ 527 out with the mod fitted at the weekend, which also means starting from scratch with zeroing - oh well, we love to fiddle don't we!? The bastardisation of a perfectly good rifle continues. . . :*)
Frank
Hi Stuart, I only wish i won the lotto. B) The Premium i got looks good, lovely clean brass, nice colourefull boxes, ect. Lets hope they do the biss, i think they will be accurate. I payed 80 euro for the 100 i got. Good luck with testing your CZ and mod this weekend, hope you get good results. Its been said that with a mod, the rifle becomes more accurate. Cheers.

tommy trucker
i used this round in 55gn b4 i started reloading it was fine. the only problem i found was that you realy have to buy as much as you can of the same batch No as you can. otherwise consistancy can suffer. frank i would regulary check your zero mate and try and use the same batch No as much as poss i was getting around 1" groups at 100yds (ok for factories) Edited October 23, 2005 by tommy trucker
