radio1ham
when we used to have catapults when we were kids we used to use marbles also lead fishing wieghts aswell but ive seen moulds on fleabay for making catapult ammo i think it does 10 at a time for about 30quid but failing that you can buy a double cavity musket mould which are around 30 quid aswell as ive bought one for making my own heavy lead shot cartridges for when out and about incase i see a fox as the price of AAA`s and SSG`s etc are stupid prices hope this helps you

bullet boy
Marbles go well in cattys too and are a lot cheaper then the steel ones!
6br
for my catapult I use a lee bullet mold double cavity and makes a .454 diameter ball which is perfect.
njc110381
I used to use the steel balls in my black widow when I was a lad. I wouldn't say they're not up to the job of killing a Rat, they hit very hard. Being so hard you can use them loads of times and if you make yourself a heavy canvas backstop for when you're practising you'll not actually use that many in the field. I recon I used to shoot 100 in the garden for every one I let go at a bunny when I was keen. Henry Krank does lead balls for about £15/100, I'd be tempted to buy them for the time it would take to make them! Having said that it's the same as reloading (which I do). Sometimes it's not so much about the cost as knowing you've made the ammo yourself. I which case there are loads of moulds on the market, the more cavities the better!
