Brad93
Hi all looking to join a gun club and heard about these two which are local to me. Anyone know when they are on, if they will lend you a gun, and if anyone has a contact number that would be great Thanks in anticipation
Mungler
Orions is only good for when absolutely every other shooting ground is shut. It really is poo. It could be so good, but it's not. White Bear (the small field site) is good for absolute beginners - all the clays are either going away or crossing. If you want something testing, then Copfurn is running tomorrow. I will be doing a smash and grab down at JJs tomorrow.
Fatcatsplat
They both have websites which are reasonably accurate - Give 'em a google. Orion (http://www.gunclub.co.uk/) is in a field at the back of Brentwood and is run by a portly chap out of the back of his van. The stands are unmanned and from memory it's about 15 quid for 50 clays. Chances of a lesson or use of a gun would be marginal in my opinion. White Bear (http://www.shot-your-trap.co.uk/) is slightly better in that the stands are better set out, they have a tea hut and a khazi and generally a lot of punters. From what i can remember there is a "Have a go" stand where they give lessons. It's Ongar way. Whereabouts are you based in Essex?

I don't think i'll ever go back there.

Brad93
I'm in doddinghurst myself, wheres copfurn? I was up at Fennes having a bit of tuition the other day, and tracey riddington mentioned the white bear. I'm not a beginner, more intermidiate, just need my own gun to progress a bit more
Mungler
Copfurn details and directions here: http://www.claypigeonshoot.co.uk/Copfurn.htm
Fatcatsplat
Copfurn is bang on your doorstep (http://www.claypigeonshoot.co.uk/Copfurn.htm). Think you will be disappointed with Orion or White Bear. As Mungler said earlier, get in the motor and get yourself to JJ's (http://www.jjscsc.co.uk/). Should be a few of us there tomorrow.
