Keeping the farmer sweet

Spent a night out lamping last week on a farm I regularly visit and there were few rabbits about, ten years ago the same farm was brown with them ! The farmer is a bit of a grump at times but likes to see us keep up with the control of the rabbits, woodpigeon and other vermin.

I spent today since early doors ferreting with my pal Jim, just put in and shoot. We did notice there seems to be more deer about, six or seven as we arrived and in the wood we saw another four and we know there is at least double that number in the other outlying rough patches.

Anyhoo, we only had 3 fully grown rabbits and found a good roe buck dead and wasn`t in too bad a condition, perhaps it just had died of the long drawn out winter we`ve had

We then ferreted a bank that holds just a few small burrows and got 2 small ones and then we found a ewe that is limping really bad, so we went back to the steading to let the farmer know. During the conversation Jim just asked straight out if he wanted the excess does shot and he just said "Yes" :good::hmm::lol:

Just goes to show that keeping the farmer sweet pays off.

Guess what I`m doing early tomorrow and later on in the evening ?

I've just been given the go-ahead for the deer on a farm today too, needless to say I'm going to be badgering my Referees tomorrow.

Better than refereeing badgers, they fight mean <_<

First morning and I have had one doe and will be out later today, if I can get the computer to accept my card I will post some pics and possibly a video !

**EDIT** Photos here
